Games I own now and realizing I might just be playing it alone makes it a lot harder.

Metal Slug 3

Ninja Gaiden (Xbox 180)

Capcom vs SNK 2

My initial thought would be 3 shooters, but that'd be no good if you weren't in the mood for a shooter.

So:
Pro Gear no Arashi
Kone E Tako
Hearthstone

Waialai Golf N64 would be my sports game if I had a 4th.

Really hard to choose, but I'd say:

- Streets of Rage 2
- Metal Slug (Possibly replaced by MS3)
- Blazing Star (Possibly replaced by Razion)

Regards.

Best list so far right here. I might pick Streets of Rage over Castlevania IV though. I'd definitely go with games I am good at and that I know I can play through repeatedly without getting sick of them. As much as I love shooters, I can only take so much of that type of game.

I'd go with RPGs most likely because after a hard day of scrounging for food, and killing to survive. It'd be nice to immerse yourself into a different world. :p

what's your opinion on DownLoad 1?

I like 1; it's just not Desert Island material to me.

2, is everything great about PCE gaming to me.

Story driving cinemas? Check.
T's music soundtrack? Check.
Immersive sprites and levels? Diverse weapons? Spot on controls? Triple check.

Hori shooters aren't even my favorite...but this one floats my boat. The parallax and bosses are amazing.

Back in the early 90s, when the Future Was Now...this game was the epitome of that aesthetic to me.

Hard question, just because "rest of my life" means I would like something that I cannot "complete" so it keeps me entertained for a longer time.
I'll split this in the case "I will have the option for 2 players" and "I will be alone"

Alone (no internet):
Dungeon Hack (random levels)
Art of Fighting 2 (time to complete this fucker in 1CC highest difficulty should keep me occupied)
Super Mario World

2 player option available:
Marvel VS Capcom 2
Windjammers
Gigawing 2

Internet available:
Dota2
Hex
Diablo III

Doom
Sengoku 3
Metal Slug 3

Wish there was room for Garou: MOTW and Blazing Star but life is full of choices. Sometimes i think if the house would be on fire, what will i try to save since there is just so much you can carry in both hands. I'll probably die trying to get my Super Neo 29 down the stairs.

Tetris - Apple IIGS - there are most definitely better versions of this game, but this was the first one I played and it would probably help me remember better times pre-apocalypse.

Armed Police Batrider - there is literally no end to the replay value of this game just ask Chem

Metal Slug 1 - I think I could work with this for a long time. Later games may be cooler in some respects, but MS1 has a lot of scoring mechanics that can be explored.

Street fighter II Champion Edition - could have easily picked IIX, but this was what really got me hooked in the arcades back in the day.

GTA:San Andreas - would be a tough choice for me over Shenmue, but the game is massive and the soundtrack rocks.

Galaga - I could play this forever, r-type is a close second for my third and final game.

Honorable mention: Mortal Kombat II - best of the series and I don't know if I could go forever without actually killing my opponent ever again.
