Quick question, can you install backward compatible XBOX games to the hard drive of the 360? If so, do you still need the disc for it to start up like 360 games that are installed to the HDD?

You need the the Bleemcast! disc for Metal Gear Solid in order to install Dreamcast games on your Xbox 360.

Well, sorta. You can buy Xbox 1 games from the Marketplace and they will install on your 360's HDD and you wont need a disc to play them. But if what you're asking is "can I put my Halo 1 Xbox disc in there and copy it to the 360 hdd", then no. You cannot.
