Well if Wolfhound is referring to improved characters I agree 100%. Personally I would also add:

Dunno,but Iori can´t use their air D or C,Stand C,fwd+B,two qcb+C cancel (this year I don´t cancel with qcb+A with the super), super and their followup anymore.
Kyo is better this year, the Max Mode benefice him for a strange reason, you can use their followups with the fireball moves with A and C,sounds interesting .

I found that Mature's really strong in this game. Kensou definitely makes his mark, and Chris has alot of potential.

Next time I play I'm testing out Orochi Chris.

Andy and Joe are certainly very strong in 2002.

Chris is by far the most improved in 2002. Kula has been slightly improved. Iori is still IMO very good. And the other characters play very well above some of the other characters. I still like Kula the most while K' has been really toned down.
