I once walked into a convenience store in the north end. It was practically empty. Just random rolls of paper towels, individual granola bars, etc. on bare shelves. An lady in her 80s or 90s was standing at the register. Some middle aged guy came in from the back door, sees me and my friend, goes "Aw, shit," turns around and slams the door. We left immediately.
