Which State of Trance Compilation? (Armin van Buuren)

I'm going to pick up one of Armin van Buuren's State of Trance compilations to introduce myself to more trance artists/music, but I don't know which one to pick up. Which one do you guys recommend to help somebody get more exposure to "good" trance artists/music? The track lists can be seen here (I'm hoping somebody familiar with many trance songs might recognize which of these compilations has songs that should be checked out):

My first piece of advice would be to give up before you begin, Trance is largely a dissolved genre. Almost everything in it (thats any good) can be classified in another genre or simply isn't "Trance" as it is intended to be.

That said, what little forays I have into Trance these days, I like a lot of what I hear, so from that experience, I'd start with the newest one (2007) and maybe work backwards. Anything from 2-8 years ago, is going to be trash, if not further back.
