This will be the last transit of Venus to occur in your lifetime.

Why? Planning on killing me sometime soon?

I'll be spending my Christmas at age 132 watching Venus cross the sun.

A nice guy let us take a look on our way back from dinner. Looked like an ink blot on some light colored paper. Pretty cool though....I guess. I've never seen the sun without venus through a telescope so I can't really compare.

Seems like a stretch.... Why should I care? Is it going to give me super powers like our last eclipse promised? (I'm still waiting for those to materialize).

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by fault lines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will 'cause
I sure could use a vacation from this

Still some daylight left here.

Drove about a mile from my house to a canyon overlook (I do love living in the Sierra Foothills) and checked out what a local astronomy group had set up. All kinds of telescopes and other viewing devices. I snagged some glasses for looking at the sun, which was awesome.

Also filled out a card to get a certificate from NASA saying I viewed the Venus Transit.

NASA bitches. That shit is getting framed :emb:
