Ah well, as long as we're dredging this topic back up, I'll join in ;) .

Here's what I think my rarest carts are:

1. Twinkle Star Sprites (JPN - of course!)
2. Ninja Master's (JPN)
3. Metal Slug 2 (JPN)
4. Metal Slug X (JPN)
5. Samurai Shodown 4 (JPN)
6. Last Blade 2 (JPN)
7. Art of Fighting 3 (JPN)
8. Kabuki Klash (JPN)

I have 41 homecarts, but those the only truely rare ones that I could come up with.

Samurai RPG (Bushido Retsuden)
Brikinger
Final Romance 2
Zintriks

also 2 demo titles, not considered games (sample)

ADK World
Neo-Geo CD Special

Almost. Even in Neo Geo Freak magazine they show that Ironclad & Crossed Swords II were developed on MVS but only released on CD.

Final Romance 2 was in the arcades on some Video System board before getting ported to Neo CD.

About the rare games on Yahoo, I have seen many more than what you say, in the last 6 months, and counting only Yahoo. 0 copies of TSS, 1 copy of BTG, and multiple copies of all the others, although I admit I never look for Ragnagard anymore. I guess we all miss some games.

Stuff like Andro Dunos and Stakes Winner 2 are virtually impossible to find here now, along with BTG and perhaps above EVERYTHING else, Master of Syougi believe it or not.

To the posts about CD only games........didnt Iron Clad only come out on that format??

I heard rumours of an MVS version, but never heard or seen it proven.

Hmm.... well before I had my mega-neo-sale it was:

Neo Turfmasters (US)
Metal Slug (JP)
Overtop (JP) X 2
Ultimate 11 (JP)
Kizuna Encounter (JP)
Pulstar (JP) X 2
Blazing Star (JP)
Breakers (JP)

I only have about 10 NGH carts right now, but about 20 MVS kits

I only have 19 carts (hopefully twenty soon @ Dilligaf ;) ) but I've never purchased anything uniquely rare. I would have to say my rarest carts are:

Street Hoop (US)
KOF '96 (US)

Nothing else is terribly rare, unless you also count Neo Geo Cup '98, since it's not available just anytime, but not rare.

To be honest, it's the second time I've owned this game. The first I bought from Gamedude brand new when KOF '97 was just released. I actually intended on receiving the japanese version and figured that they didn't make U.S. Neo games anymore (based on word of mouth). It was a pleasant surprise to receive the U.S. version.

The copy I own now was GamersAbyss auction, but it's not mint. Excellent (I put it in a mint snaplock, the one it came in was pretty <img src="graemlins/angry.gif" border="0" alt="[Angry]" /> )
but not mint.

Rarest homecart I own is Last Blade 1. I know LB1 is not very rare but I only own three home carts currently and that was the hardest one for me to get.

Yes, it brought somewhere around $270.00 on the 'bay. I paid $265.00 for it new, which would make it the only KoF title to actually hold/gain in value. I got rid of it when I decided to start shifting over to JPN carts. KoF 96 JPN has the coolest insert spine of all time.

Anyway, here's my list (all are JPN unless otherwise noted):

1. Twinkle Star Sprites
2. Blazing Star
3. Pulstar
4. Kizuna Encounter
5. Magical Drop 2 (coming soon from EvilWasabi's insane sale)
6. Magical Drop 3
7. Garou: Mark of the Wolves
8. Shock Troopers 2
9. Kabuki Klash
10. US Metal Slug X (dunno how "rare" it is, but it's valuable)

The next rare game I plan on adding to my collection is Ninja Master's.
