Its time...well, starting on Thursday.

I think Baylor and TCU are both legit contenders, I particularly like TCU if they only knew how to beat Baylor somehow. But rightly so, Ohio State should be the favourite. Early speculation is the ACC might get shut out of the playoff this year, though the SEC doesn't look particularly strong for this season IMO.

Predictions, hopes for this year?

I can't believe Big XII haven't sorted out this conference champion thing after last season; the possibility of co-champions is silly.

New coach at Colorado State. We were having a great season last year before McElwain started leaving to Florida and we lost our rivalry game and then got blown out in a bowl.

Rashard Higgins in the best receiver in the country, though.

As long as we beat Colorado and Air Force it's a good season.

Arizona State's going to have a tough year. While we are ranked 15th in the AP and 16th in the USA Today polls, there are THREE other teams in the Pac-12 South that are also ranked (USC: 8th/10th, UCLA 13th/14th and Arizona 22th both) not to mention Oregon (7th/5th) which they play on a Thursday night (10-29). Opening up the season at Texas A&M will give the Sun Devils an indication on how the season goes.

Seeing how Texas A&M does not know what a defense is (though Chavis will help out with that but not this year) it may not be the best test. I'm pulling for Bama all the way but while our defense and line are stacked we do not have a starting QB yet and no magic maker like Amari Cooper was last year. I think TCU will be the bar setters this year assuming they can take down Baylor. USC I had high hopes for and was pulling for them in the Pac-12 until their coach had to get up and give a speech while fucked up which is going to cause distraction they cannot afford. I do not see Ohio State being able to repeat what they had last year especially with Michigan looking better than that mess from last year and Mich. State always being stout. I wouldn't give up on the ACC since Virginia Tech looks to make a statement and Georgia Tech hopes to carry over the momentum that they had while kick ass at the end of last season.

I bought season tickets for my alma mater this year (Temple University) as we have two big programs coming in PSU (9/5) and Notre Dame (10/31) and we are supposed to be a bowl team. I would love to see an upset.

Our D was really good last season and our offense has hopefully improved.

Army, Washington State, Wyoming, and Kansas lost to FCS teams.

A&M smashed ASU, Northwestern beat Stanford, BYU beat Nebraska, Hawaii beat Colorado, Temple stomped Penn State.

But the only thing that matters is Colorado State won. They played a terrible team, but a win is a win. Minnesota comes to town next week. Should be a good game; they gave TCU a good one this weekend. Higgins is the best receiver in the country.

Four Colorado State Rams made the Broncos roster or practice squad.

Rookie Ty Sambrailo is the starting left tackle, Shaq Barrett is a rotational outside linebacker, Shelley Smith is a reserve guard, and Kapri Bibbs is a practice squad running back. Cool to see local kids staying around.

I remember you mentioning it and none of us thinking Temple had a chance, very cool you got to be there for history being made.

Thanks man, looking forward to doing it again on Halloween against Notre Dame.

So 10 SEC teams have been ranked in the top 25... :oh_no: It will be at least one less after Oklahoma beats Tennessee Saturday. Another big game is Oregon at Michigan State.

I still can't beleive how badly ND thumped Texas...

Shits about to hit the fan people! LSU vs Bama, FSU vs Clemson, OSU vs TCU! The first set of playoff rankings come out tomorrow. This is the beginning!

Some general observations so far:
-except for Stanford, it is funny how mediocre PAC-12 is this year.
-Iowa is undefeated playing such an easy schedule; they could probably stay undefeated until B10 championship game.
-SEC East is pretty terrible except for Florida
-Some of these American conference undefeated teams are actually pretty good, especially Memphis
-That girl on College Game Day is pretty hot.

Duke got hosed.

Replay changes how the refs call the play and then can't even fix it.
