I could be wrong on this but I think the card reader and JVS I/O connect to that PCB and it allows you to have RFID + JVS. For games like SFIV. I think the JVS I/O connects to J2, and J1 goes out to the TypeX2.

If that is in fact what that is, I need to get my hands on one.

The Core 2 Duo works.

Some units shipped with E6400s.

I have a C2D in one of my boards, w/ 4GB of ram.

Feels a bit faster and smoother than than the stock P4 models, esp w/ 3D games.

But, that's just MHO.

If the c2d works it would make a cool dusl boot fightcade mame machine.

OK, my X2 is on its way. after fees and shipping it ended up being $302. Not a bad pickup :)

Quick Q.. what is this?

Looks like the RFID PCB.

Card reader for player ID and stats. Used primarily in fighting games.

Nice setup! I'm going to throw an E6700 in mine. :)
Same fsb and footprint, no reason it shouldn't work if an E6400 does.

I might get a stock elsa 9800 for swapping when not in the mood for playing the fighters that don't support it.

C2Q's though.. what's the upper limit on that?

Don't know if the PCBs have quad support. I doubt it, but the CPUs are cheap enough that one could try I suppose.

In other news, my rare 7900GS 512MB arrived and the card is dead. I don't even get the type x2 loader screen. I've tried non compatible GPUs already and you at least get the bootup screen. :(

I removed the cooler and baked the GPU, and boy if it wasn't dead before it sure is now! :(

Anyhoo, my PSU noise is a little annoying. Does anyone have any advice on alleviating it? I'll disassemble it when I swap my CPU out sometime in the next week or so.

Are there any suitable replacements that are 400w or greater that will fit the mounting holes?

That sucks to hear about the 7900GS :/

As far as the PSU goes, I've heard there are some PSUs that physically fit but the mounting holes dont quite line up and require cutting the case.

Since your X2 isnt going to be inside of a hot cab for 12 hours a day, I'd say you should be safe swapping the two fans out for some quieter variants. That or just put a resistor inline to slow them down

Cabs are hot indeed. Can you boot your x2 into windows if you have a spare hdd?

I was thinking, if i could get a faster c2d on it, this would make a decent dual boot fightcade computer if a pci wifi module works.

I changed all my fans out as mine sounded like bad cps2 fans except there were four of them all making terrible noise. The wires in the psu fans are extremely long so you will have to get extenders or just cut and solder the old wires to the new fans.

All internals are for a normal PC setup. Create a hard drive with Windows installed and just attach it to the SATA and power cable inside the TX2 and it will boot like a normal PC.

I think it's because it hasn't been released, honestly.

Model 217A, P4, 1 GB ram... But check out this "it is not possible to use other game software" sticker. Should I be concerned?

More info on the NES emulation/hack.

http://insertmorecoins.es/nesicaxlive-hackeado/

Looks like you're right.

I think it's because it hasn't been released, honestly. ...

Some OEM X2 games (the drive & dongle) require a custom BIOS in order to work.

Not sure if these custom BIOS mobos are backwards compatible with the standard BIOS X2 games.

May have to load XP on a hard drive, install the X2 Loader, download a rom, and see what it does.

didn't even think about the custom bios. here's hoping the multidrive has no issues with it.

I wish you the best, lemony. I've never heard of these custom Bios'. Take out the DMAC and it's probably the same. Probably...

Meh... Yea, on one hand it's true that some late release X2 games require an Fast I/O (DMAC) board to work; however, on the other hand, it's also true that other X2 games require a custom BIOS (in addition to a dongle) in order to work.

So, yea, like I said before: You just gotta test your box to see what ya got.

No game I've seen uses custom bios and a dongle, at least not X2 games. The games that have custom bios have a different configuration as well. They are mostly used for the shitty touch screen games and Darius Burst. His motherboard is from a nesica cab.

Darius Burst was the game I was thinking of.

But perhaps, there are other X2 games out there: http://forum.arcadeotaku.com/viewtopic.php?t=31846&start=40

Probable.

Just look at the X2 mobo in this listing.

BUT, the NES is missing the hard drive & the dongle, just ask shou-sama (who owns a complete NES).

Hey, just curious: How come nobody is talking about the fact that NES has been cracked?

Honestly, it should not be talked about lol.

The games have not been released so all there is to say is "hey, those games have been cracked!"

Also, I know for a fact that the USFIV in that video is not from Nesica, it's the TX3 version. Although, there is literally nothing distinguishing the two apart in game. I understand it says "NESICA cannot be used" on the bottom, but that is also on the TX3 version. It was used for player stats.
