I have a Super Nova and two Hyper 64 (generation 1).
Whenever there is a loud sound in game, the screen flickers.
Happens on both boards.
Any ideas on what's going on?

Your help is appreciated,

AOF

I'm going to say:..Somehow when that loud sound occurs it's creating a slight power surge taking away from your power supply causing a flicker on screen..

Maybe tweaking the power supply a tad high could fix the problem..
I'd take a voltage reading of the 12V to see if it dips, jumps at all when this occurs..

Also:make sure the Harness and edge connectors are super clean mmaking good contact..
If harness pins are not tight on the edge connector it may be cause a bad/weak connection..

As chris said measure the voltages from the PSU, see if they are dropping significantly, the 12 volts dipping should not effect the video (unless supanovas require 12 volts which I dont know of ?) unless its really being dragged down causing the psu 5 volts to become unregulated.

What are the max current ratings of the 5 and 12 volt supplies. Should be marked on the PSU.
