Last night I'll be able to play before the end of the month, I just wanted to get past the Stage 4 rocket boss after doing the cheap Mao Mao scoring. In the end I made it to the Stage 5 Battleship boss before I finally died, I was very glad to top the 1.5M barrier.

Guaranteed Atro is still better at me than this game overall. The scoring trick definitely is cheap.

This is still on the US bios by the way.

It's supposed to be about scoring, not beating it. And by that, I can't manage to find a better scoring way with my ship.

Are the 2 secret ships allowed?

Sure. Here's the Copy & Paste on how to access them:

Kotami and/or "The Man" (Captain Waffle in 1P mode or Gore in 2P mode): On the character selection screen, hold down B and the player 1 start button. Each highlighted character's plane will be shown rotating; hit the down button each time the plane is facing directly forward. If successful, one of the secret characters will be selected (Kotomi if the cursor is in the left column of planes and "The Man" if in the right column). In two player mode, you will play with both Kotomi and "The Man."

I’ve reached the boss and was able to keep the chain on my 9k+ hit. You’ve got to slow down a bit and snipe enemies instead of blasting them all. It’s more of a rhythm to it. You can also get 200k if you blow up both of the black planes at the same time, it’s a “simultaneous bonus”.

This post changed my life.

Thank you, doggy-daddy. The code has been cracked!! 11k plus chain, by feathering toward the end of the pre-boss, continuing chain on boss, and milking him for chain.

If I hadn’t died once, used a bomb for ‘simultaneous bonus’, and actually *killed* the boss…I recon I’d be north of 30milli.
