RUGAL 02 TOO HARD??

Well I have not played the game now
But I already heard frome some pals thats have played it.
Thats Rugal is much cheaper then Igniz was in KOF01
is thats true?
they say he makes most of time Kaiser wave and if you make a air attack he start his cheap genocid cutter,he not lose much energy by the attacks against him and and and.
Well if thats really so then Rugal will be one of the cheaperst boss ever.
How you all think about thats??

Hell, I thought he was a tough bastard when playing on the very high levels in 98, but now that I hear he doesn't fall for some old tricks, it's even harder, I would think.

He's not that bad...seems to be on that crazy kof 94 programming. Takuma, Orochi Chris, and Yamazaki don't have too much trouble with him...especially if you have their hdsm's mastered.

Well, if Rugal still falls for the '98 whiff A when almost in Gen. Cutter range then follow up, he shouldn't be too bad.

although his new multi kick combo might be a new factor or somethin...

Well if he's easier than the '98 version, then his AI must be at short bus rank. '98 Rugal is one of the sorriest bosses I've ever come across...just keep the distance short so those projectile attacks are a non factor, roll, and combo.

Really easy stuff! Hopefully this year he makes me sweat a little... Too bad I won't be getting the game for at least two more months. <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />

I think this year's Rugal is easier than '98 as he seems to fall for more mistakes IMO. For example certain fireball characters can have a field day with him (I can perfect him with just Yuri's powered up one). Also other characters with invincible grabs like Goro and Clark's dp + B/D are awesome against him if timed right.

He is faster and he recovers from his moves real quick.Try rolling towards him when he throws his reppuken and see what happens.He will immediately throw you.He recovers THAT fast.But he is beatable though.My tactic is to use Orochi Yashiro.His qcb+C/A move works like a charm.Rugal falls for it a lot.After doing his qcb+C/A, all you combo freaks know what to do next.I need not explain.
Just see the distance between your fighter and rugal and alternate between and the C and A versions.

Normal Chris's DP+C/A move too works on him but not as much as Orochi yashoro's.

His Kaiser wave comes out in a flash and he could charge it and it becomes an unblockable.However, the CPU does not charge the kaiser wave fully.The small black orb can be blocked.But rolling towards it can be tricky.If he charges it fully, the unblockable kaiser wave is a big black orb.It comes out as fast as the normal kaiser wave.He is open to attacks when he charges.

In 2002, Rugal just loves to do an hcb+B, followed by a B-Genocide Cutter. Use that pattern to your advantage. And just like all the previous KOF bosses since Goenitz, don't make any stupid twitchy moves like desperation sweeps or pokes, because he'll counter them, hard.

If you want to get a better idea of Rugal's moves and what their ranges are, move the character select cursor to the right of Chris (he's a hidden character there).

The biggest problem with Rugal in 2002 is that he doesn't shut up. He's like those sissy NEST characters that recite paragraphs and paragraphs of nonsense before they finish their moves. One of the [many] reasons why Rugal used to be scary was that he didn't talk much, he just went in and beat you down.

Rugal has always been hard for me in all of the KoF series. I am not suprised that they wuld make him hard to defeat in Kof2k2. SNK has always put a challenge to their games.

Well after beating Rugal'02 today

twice, I don't think he is that hard,

he is a little bit quicker than his

other versions, specially his Krauser

Easy pattern with Orochi Yashiro... qcb Light punch...rugal almost always tries to dodge the flying grab, once he gets caught, Strong Punch linked into his toward Light punch, into another qcb light punch, repeat until you have a super.

Once you have a super, finish the ground combo with his hcb + F grab, as Rugal is getting up, do O. Yahshiro's qcf + b x2 super grab...repeat from beginning...he should be dead in no time.

Yeah, I have to agree with too_short, he is also nowhere near as difficult as Johann in ROTD.

He ain't hard at all. That cheap fucker from '01 was much, MUCH worse. I actually think Rugal from '94 is harder than '98 or '02.

Agree, when a Genocide fucker cutter that destroy a entire life bar and a cheap Kaiser Wave, but it´s hard that compare that Orochi,Krizalid and Zero (both versions) and the overrated God Rugal of Capcom v.s SNK 2,but not hard to Igniz and Gill .... <img src="graemlins/veryangry.gif" border="0" alt="[Very Angry]" />
