@hpman: the cdz has a cache, which the cd doesn't.. that results in higher speed. it's NOT 2x.
@the rest: aside from the fact that you can't just slap extra ram somewhere, (NGCD has 7 MB, btw.. 56 mbit, not mbyte!), the ngcd's hardware simply isn't made to access and address more than that ram.. it wouldn't take any advantage of it cause it doesn't know there is more ram, and how to use the extra ram.
