PS3 40Gb vs 60Gb vc 80Gb ?!?! What the hell ....

Theres my problem, i sold my old 60Gb PS3 to a friend, now i went to amazon to get a new one and there it is, only 40Gb (not PS2 compatible) and 80GB, the differences between than are just the lack of PS2 support and that the 80Gb only support PS2 games by software and not by hardware anymore like my old 60Gb or there is anything else i should know ? And they both support PS1 games or just the 80GB model does it ?

40 gig only has 2 USB port and none of the memory card slots (compared to the 80 gig). I am glad I bought the 60 gig back in August and don't have to worry about this silliness.

40 has 2 USB ports, no memory card slots, no EE or GS (0 ps2 back-compat).
80 has 4 USBs and memcard slots (like 60), but only the GS chip (limited ps2 back-compat).

They all play PS1 games.

srsly, i know the old adage [you know, the one that i made up] about it being impossible for a game company to stay on top for any more than two consecutive generations ... but the way the universe chose to karmically balance out sony's prior ULTRADOMINANCE of the market is somewhat astounding.

Kid Aphex (Theif/Scammer) It seems a couple of members made purchases from Ray about a month ago. Ray has neither returned messages nor PMs. Kafuin Gaira had attempted to do a paypal chargeback but there was no money in Rays account for him to receive a refund. For those of you that remember, there was a similar incident concerning Ray and Liquid Snake that went down a few months ago over a similar situation. I didnt list it the first time as it had seemed inappropriate...but with it happening a second time I must list it here. He has not scammed anyone.... but his very slow shipping and nonresponsiveness is something people should consider before dealing with him. It has been mentioned that he was on AIM a few days ago...but he has not come here to respond to his buyers. Buyers have not received items purchased or refunds. If the situation is not resolved or updated in a positive manner within 2 weeks, I will revise this post. STILL NO RESTITUTION MADE TO BUYERS. THEIF/SCAMMER LABEL ADDED!!!!

I was trying to decide if I wanted a 40 or an 80. I went to local electronics/books/music store and they were selling their 60s for 399+a free controller. I took the 60 and sold my ps2 on ebay for $125 instead of going with the lame 40gb.
