craigslist transaction!
I had a sega cd system up for sale/trade and a gentleman hit me up saying he had some mvs games and we did a trade. I gave him the cd system with a few games that this is what I got plus 30 bucks! boards matched the scans from what I've seen online but labels are replacement

So I now have 16 MVS carts. All purchased here from you guys. Thanks dudes!!

I decided to get a few Shock Boxes from Big Bear to get an idea of what all the excitement is about.
And I'm glad I did. The Shock Boxes and MVS Inserts (also from Big Bear) are really awesome.

The resolution of the artwork on the covers is not quite as sharp as I was expecting but considering how old the source material is I'm sure it's hard to find at high enough resolutions for printing it so large. Despite this they look great and all in!

I've already ordered more for the rest of my carts.

Uhh, Big Bear isn't Southtown Homebrew. BB used to make and sell shocks a while back, but hasn't for a bit from what I understand. Southtown is a whole different outfit. (have dealt with both BB & ST on many occasions and they're both great IMO)

And the inserts are done by regular people with whatever they can find as they're not official inserts. Some find nicer resolution art than others. So unfortunately the art quality isn't consistent over the insert library as there isn't just one person/company making them all with official high-res artwork.

Hey, is that PS3 Strider game the same one you can download for the PS3 and PS4?

I've been playing it on my PS4 and I'm really enjoying it. It's a cool game and I didn't know you could get it on disc.

Yes, Japan got a disc version.

Hmm, it says "Shockboxes by BigBear" on the Southtown site. I didn't realize there was a distinction. My mistake.
And I'm OK with the inserts that I've received so far. Better than 'OK' really. They're great. And since, no one is creating the artwork anymore we're stuck with what's out there on the Internet. But so many of the covers are really nicely done; even if the resolution could benefit from being a bit higher for the size of the print job. I'll be purchasing a Shockbox and insert for every MVS cart I get.

Hey all, first post here!

So, I've been a retro game fan for quite some time.. but never got to really play Neo Geo until recently... and then all hell broke loose and this became an obsession...

So here's my recent purchase at the moment. And yes, I put an MV1C in an Atari 5200 (don't laugh, this system actually works well now lol)

Other than that, I've got (to start with):
Samurai Showdown
8 Man
Metal Slug
Fatal Fury 1, 2, and Special

Thank you!

I've got a JROK encoder with the sync cleaner. Definitely needed the 0.01 uF capacitor on the sync Jamma pin going to the sync cleaner; my top screen was off before the cap.

I like this encoder a lot, granted I've never used (or could find a Neobitz), but the RGB color pots is a nice addition for adjustments; as well as composite, s-video, component, RGB output

I haven't been buying much lately, since I'm trying to save for a cab. But I found both of these on eBay for a really good price. Unfortunately the Phantasy Star Online 1&2 Plus is case and manual only. So I'm still looking for a nice disc-only copy...

Very cool w/the 5200 MVS, pretty sure you can fit a 4-slot in that 5200 case :) The 5200 gets a bad rap, but I really like the styling on the case...despite being so large.

yeah, the MV1C is such a small board and now it'S in like the largest case ever ^^ you should find something cool to do with the excess space... like build in coin counters for example. Other than that, not a bad idea.

Thanks cr8zykuban0 and madman! Haha yea it's pretty huge, but at least you can say the system actually works well this time around lol. I did all the work myself, and I was actually thinking of adding more to fill in the space, especially in the open back portion where a cover is supposed to go.. Hmm back lit SNK logo possibly??

Now if only I can create a custom door flap to keep dust out instead of using an actual 5200 dust cover... perhaps a broken (non-fixable) AES would work.

Heck, you probably create a space for a light-up marquee of whatever game you're playing :)
