Ok, I've reached the end boss to this game twice now, and both times I have died and the game just ends, I cant continue. However, both times I have not been sure if I was just out of credits, or if you are not allowed to continue at the end boss. So can you continue while fighting the end boss?

No you can't :( . I've been to the last boss quite a few times, but never beaten him either. I've pretty much given up at this point.

No continues. SKILL, BABY!

To beat the last boss, you have to get into a certain rhythm. The boss's attacks consist of two forms of attack, the grenades, and that quick flame thing. Shoot for a bit, run a step or two to the side to dodge the fireball, shoot a little more, run again, keep this up until you reach the edge of the screen, and then be ready to roll the opposite way... try to do it at the last possible second, because grenades will be hitting the ground where you were before, so if you do it early you'll die there.

It's hard to properly explain the exact procedure for beating it without seeing it in action. The next time you reach the last boss, just concentrate on dodging first. Try to pay attention to its attack patterns, if you can figure out the timing of the shots and dodge everything perfectly, the boss will be beatable.

The only other tip I can offer... if you have a memory card, save on the last level, then just keep playing the last level so you can get to the last boss faster. This also helps because starting that stage with a score of 0 and 3 lives, you can easily reach the extra life at 100k, and get the 1-Up about halfway through. So assuming you don't die up to that point, you can reach the last boss with 4 lives in reserve.

Thanks for the tips. I can already beat the guy in the wheelchair and the Full Metal Jacket twins without dying. I'm going to try this weekend to beat the game. It looks like not many people have beaten this thing as its too hard. I'll be sure to brag after I win the game. :D

The key to doing well in that game is through use of the C button. Holding Left or Right with the C button causes your character to run, which is much better than walking where you need to go. Down-Left or Down-Right + C does the invincible roll, which is needed when you see bullets coming your way. There's a lot of situations where you pretty much have no choice but to roll out of the way.

If you're dying too much on the first level though... ummmmmmm....

Yea, yea,

Nam 1975 is a difficult one, maybe you ALL try it in Coop-Mode, also known as "2 Player-Mode"... :)

When I have 0 lives in reserve. I just die on purpose upon fighting the previously tied up girls and I'll have 9 lives in reserve for me when I beat them.

Cheating(using the bios) ain't fair but it's the only way to win >=] :p :p

As good as I usually am at Commando orientated games blasting everything to kingdom come, I have never beaten NAM-1975 because the last boss is indeed a bastard. I figured out the rhythm of juxing side to side and shooting a three-round burst into the Mecha-thing, but no sooner do I do this when suddenly.... Orrrwrah! I'm toasted by a salvo of missiles because while I moved the solider, I get caught up in the frenzy and forget to move the target cursor along with him. I've seen a screen grab of the ending and all I'll say it that the ending doesn't look worth all the problems of fighting Muckley's death machine. Though I do love NAM-1975 so!

geezus, you're bringing back some nightmare images from NAM for me now.

I literally played the last boss over 400 times and never passed that damn game. There obviously is some type of pattern beating him, but I can't figure it out.

My roommate, who did pass the game tells me it's much easier with 1 player than two, since Muckley doesn't shoot at random, but more in a pattern mode.

I broke two old style Neo controllers because of the darn game. After rehab, I'm okay now. :p
