Let's do the Michigan tourny. I'm in. The Fatal Fury series and the Samurai series are my faves.

Ok maybe this can be done.

We can all meet in Detroit at a set date. Me and my friend...and other people can easily put up for a Hotel.

Now the time has come to put all your game play to worth.

I'd also go down there to hang out, but I wouldn't be doing much playing. Last time I used a neo was 6 months ago or so when I played kof2000. It's been about a year since I've played titales I actually liked too, like kof98 and magical drop 3. Either way though, it sounds like a good time. Let me know what's going on,

So who's going to organize this tourny? So, I guess were looking at KoF'98 or Samurai Shodown. I'd help organize, but we need a KEY PERSON to lead this tourny. Any suggestion. I suppose no one has Garou: Mark of the Wolves? Chicago, you got Garou: Mark of the Wolves for the MVS? Anybody up for a Neo*Geo Pocket Tournament as well?

I've got Garou for home cart, not MVS. But I'll bring it if that's what people want !

Anyone in Michigan know where the FLint Arcade called The Twilite Zone is located? We could meet up there one day to play some Garou: Mark of the Wolves or Crapcom vs. SNK (that is if you like that game). We could talk about plans on this tourny. Just another suggestion. We could have a tournament on Baseball Stars. I love that game. How about the Neo*Geo Pocket Tournamnet I was talking about eariler. I know a couple guys who aould love a tourny like that. Later

I still like the idea of us getting together and bringing our own carts, people have the rare ones like MotW plus the arcade may close and all of us would be SOL. I still think everyone meeting at a place with a cart system, pocket, and games is the best idea, but where is the question.

Good question. We could play at someones house if they offer, or rent a hall or a hotel. Anybody got other suggestions?

Oh yah. I used to play games there all the time. Nice arcade, although I wonder why the name change...did it change owners as well? last time I was there, the owner told me he was going to close down if the business kept on going like it was...Oh well, if you guys want to meet there, I'd love to see you guys pound on each other at some fighters...

I'm still keen on doing this, even though it looks like the Texas Tourney took a big crap in the end. I feel very sorry for those people that attended.

But hey, if everyone else is still committed, so am I !

I just need enough advance notice to set it up. I hope the event coordinator/s understands.

I'm still down for the tournament. My friend Joku is right though, we should either rent a hotel room or hall. We could also have it at someone's house if they offered. Oh yeah, does anyone have KoF 2000 for MVS? That would be cool to have a tournament at that game, but people now a days love KoF'98. What can I say, it's a great game.

No ones posting on here all of a sudden. What's wrong people? I say it's Ralf Fan's tourney, since he decided to have this thing take place. So RalfFan, what's next? You think the hotel/hall is a good idea or someones house? You decide, it's your call.

This seems like it would be more successful than the Texas thing. I don't know, it just feels more brotherly/genuine - people willing to bring their own cart systems, and cart, and cabs. I definetely feel this, too bad I live all the way in Northern Nevada. If I was closer I'd be there in a heartbeat, with my Garou: Mark of the Wolves home cart copy in hand, and KoF 2000, and LB 1 and 2 Man I'm gettin goose bumps just thinkin how cool it would be.

We could rent extra t.v.s and set em up in the hotel room. I think if everyone pitches in $10 , a suite can be gotten easily, which will provide enough room. A/C and ventilation will not be a problem, just turn that sucker up. But one condition: Every hour or so, we must wash our hands thoroughly to remove the oil that's been building up on our hands and preserve our friends machines. That's what I tell my friends to do before even touching any damn console especially the Neo

Then after we're all burnt out from playing Neo Geo all night long, I'll hire some hot female strippers to do a private show (Michigan all nude or just topless?). How's that sound Get some pizza and soda (beer for the rest of ya) and voila, we'll be in SNK heaven.

I feel this tourney. It has good omen.

Winner of the tournaments: MotW, and KoF 2000 gets a free lap dance from their favorite hoe of the night, and a choice of 2 stripper "games". Personally, I'll pick the blonde with the nice legs and 6 inch stilettos with the toes showing.

I think it's great you're trying to throw a tournament.

I don't think it's great that you feel the need to make fun of the Texas Tournament every chance you get when you didn't even GO to know what it's like. You're trusting the secondhand opinions of people that didn't have a good time, for whatever reason.

It's usually not a good idea to trust secondhand information.

Your tournament will turn out exactly the same, if not worse, if no one shows up. My advice to you is to get attendees that swear, on their honor, to be there. Not liars that make promises they don't intend to keep.

Please, just leave the Texas tourney people out of this. I think anyone who tries to have a tourney, however it turns out, and goes through with the whole thing, not giving up in the face of low turnout or lack of machines, or shipments of games that didn't come, deserves respect. They don't deserve to be used as the punchline of jokes, or to be mentioned in a manner such as:

"Let's just not make it like the Texas tourney"

every time people talk about running a tournament.

The Texas tournament thing is over and done. Can't we let it drop, however good or bad it was?
