Korean SS4 question?

I recently traded a guy for a Samurai Shodown 4 NGH game and have just found out that it is not a US version, rather it is the Korean version. My question is, besides the fact that it was made in Korea, are there any differences between the Korean and US versions of SS4? Is there anything missing from the game itself, or are all 3 versions (Korean, Japanese and US) exactly the same?

all japanese voices are removed. So expect to see lips flapping and no sound coming out.

The intro is removed, because it displays japanese text.

violence level = 1.
hence
blood - gone. no blood even under debug options.

no language selection.

Gaira has a korean name.

you can buy the MVS cart for $20~$30 and swap the S, P, and M chips, and it should be fine.

I also have a Korean version and after playing the Japanese version I can't even touch mine any more. The best way to describe it is that the game just sounds really quiet. There are points where it is obvious that there should be sound, and it's just silent.

Besides all that SS4 is fecking AWESOME!

Some Korean versions are exactly the same - voices, title screen, and everything else intact. Can you hear all the characters talk? Does the title screen look right? If so, you're golden.

Some korean versions are "fixed"

I had mine fixed before selling it.

When you say some voice removed, would you say that any samples that can be understood as Japanese language were removed, leaving only laughs, grunts, screams for voice sampling? That was the case for SSIV.

Also, in Korea, are these carts readily availble, and just not leaving the country? When one membr went to Korea a few years ago, he brought back a lot of SSIV carts and sold them, which surprised peopel when they realized no blood, missing sound, and no intro.

I assume that is a list of MVS carts? I know of a few other home carts that aren't on the list. And as far as the member that went to Korea and found a bunch of SSIV carts that was due to his uncle (if memory serves) owning an old video game shop and finding a bunch of those carts stashed away. I can probably look up a few of the old convesations I had with him.

I also have a copy of Samurai IV that has the Korea stamp on the cart case, but the game itself is completely intact. Just to be clear, here is how my cart performs:

Blood Code works.

Intro is Intact, complete with Japanese voice.

Pre-Fight audio from the announcer just before the action begins is intact ("Shobu!" and the like).

In match voices are completely intact. (Haohmaru saying his move names and Kazuki's end of match quotes as examples). No flapping lips w/o sound.

Title Screen in Japanese mode consists of Japanese characters, not Korean.

There is no language selection for Korean (Is there one on some versions of this cart or is English regarded as the Korean version?).

Personally, I think that there were two distinct runs of this cart. I happened to get mine from Pichai, a member that I don't think is here anymore. He had a lot of them too, so I don't believe it is something that he mod'd or fixed. I think he just got them this way new to begin with.

I have seen many people say their cart is edited and just as many say theirs is not. That would lead me to conclude that two versions were created, although that is by no means official.

All I know is, mine has everything it should and I got it for a lot less. :)

Well, mine obviously is missing the intro, and there is no talking, also tried to use the debug to boot the game as Jap, wouldn't work. So I guess I need to get this cart "fixed", to work like it should. Anyone know where I can get it fixed at?
