KOF 98 Combos

I'm really getting into this game, and would like to know what devestating combos people here use/know. I was fooling around with it last night and came across a simple combo that takes of 3/4 life using Andy in max mode.

Jump in FP/FK, Standing FP, cancel into HCF + P, then MAX Chou Reppa Dan to juggle.

Simple, yet effective damaging 22 hit combo. Best if used in the corner though.

I'd like to see some other people's combos so I can start getting an idea of what works with what, and how the game plays in general. Thanks.

A 5 Hit combo with Ryo.

Fucking devasting.

Activate "MAX" jump + high kick, standing high punch + Haoshotoken.

It's one of the greatest 5 Hit combo, and yet very strong. wink

Nice one, just tried it. I guess you can't cancel into his Kyokugen-Ogi (SP?) from fierce attacks :( What a shame..

Yeah... kinda!

I had to state it like that because you can do other combos using the same keys.

I.E. : Missing the 2 hits of the F+ C. wink

Hmmm.. Haven't found a good position where you could end it with an Overkill Geyser though :( If I'm in the middle of the screen then they don't get all of it, if I'm in the corner they don't get all of it (but they get more than being in mid screen). So I guess best option would just to stick with power geyser.

crossup/down D (or jumping D shortly before landing IN FRONT of the opponent) -> C -> qcb+A

crossup/down D -> crouching A x2 -> qcfx2+C (1 stock)

charge db,f+D -> qcb+C -> qcf,hcb+C (1 stock, don't use the SDM version)

standing C -> charge db,f+B -> CD (juggle)

crouching B -> standing A -> f+A -> qcf,hcb+A (1 stock, you can extend the combo with a standing C after the standing A against big charas (Chang, etc.))

Anyway, keep in mind that some of Takuma's close combos won't work with a maxed-out power bar, he tosses the opponent away.

you have to give this one a try. my favorite combo:

<hold start> Terry (alt.):

jump D ..... C (2 hits) ..... f A (2 hits) ...... qcf D* ..... Rising Knucle (down - up C)

* hold down (to charge) as soon as you perform this move. I think you should press D twice ..... not sure

look at the number keys on the right of the key board.

2 = down

6 = right

8 = up

...... etc.

236 = qcf :)

Jesus I don't have numbers on my shit. Just stick with the universal qcf, qcb, hcf, hcb, db, df, etc..

i dont know those qcfhcb well. i see numbers as the easiest and the clearest way of explaining.
and qcfhcb are universal?????

I've read a lot of FAQs, and I've never ran across one that used numbers, other than Tekken, but those were for the buttons, not the joystick movement.

Yeah, I understand that concept.. But I don't play Neo games on the keyboard. That would take all the fun out of it. qcf, etc can apply to anything.. numbers is just, goofy
