No joke, toward the end of the green Forrest as it turns grey and craggy/rocky…I shot dead air, and a fairy (🧚‍♀️ like in Raiden) popped up!

No idea what her point value is, because the daggum forced fucking scroll, had me pass her by like my character was named Pharcyde.

Fuck
This
Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

Are we allowed to use autofire? It is an option on the mega drive version

If the game offers it and everyone is having such a challenge progressing I would say sure unless anyone else has a problem with that! It’s all in good fun anyway.
It's not really 100% helping because it is more difficult getting the right items it is more easier to destroy enemies however

I wish the MSX version had it. My thumb almost fell off playing with the Switch Pro Controller.

Gave the Megadrive port a go tonight, it's definitely easier than the MSX2 version by far. Score #1 was easy mode, score #2 was normal, and score #8 was crazy mode.

1: 0541400
2: 0516800
8: 0051700

Emulating the MD version. I was just barely able to beat one fucking level and then got utterly destroyed on the next (375,700 score). I tried dropping it to easy difficulty and it's much more reasonable, but frankly still harder than most console shmups on normal. I legitimately do not understand how the fuck you're supposed to beat the boss in the Drains level, and this was on easy. The top score here is from easy mode so just ignore it, but kinda weird that easy and normal don't have separate score boards. I usually don't drop to easy in games so I have no idea if that's actually common.

While I don't have a specific goal for this, it would be nice to crack at least 100K and get past a single boss. Kicking myself for cannibalizing my MiSTer SD card awhile back (as I wanted to try playing the MSX core as well.) Maybe I'll get it done.

I’m digging this game. It’s hella punishing if you die tho, but you have lots of opportunities to keep your health up.
Got through the forest stage. Cemetery is tough though. Haven’t figured out how to avoid damage during the mini boss.

@Ralfakick how do you want the score submissions formatted?
Stages are non-linear, and the Level you get is like character experience leveling.
Do you just want name - score - platform?

It’s a low-end PVM. Has 500 TVL and supports 240p and 480i only. Which is fine by me, I don’t need those high TVL monitors. It’s kind of a nice inbetween an RGB monitor and a consumer TV.
It’s due for servicing though. I need to do a cap kit and calibration of it one of these days.

That, my friend is the last of the greatest consumer sticks to have been released.

It’s a Qanba Q3. Wooden shell with a piano black finish. Metal control panel plate underneath plexiglass.
Has a nice weight and doesn’t feel or sound hollow when tapping on buttons.

I got 2 of these. one is the stock art, the other is my Gradius stick:

These are MSX2 on Switch (default difficulty):

Deadline Scores.PNG

The high was Forest then... Rock? The middle was forest then Cavern. I saw that second boss but lost. The low was forest then Cemetery.

I have not tried it yet, but apparently there is a "Rensha" setting that turns on autofire in this version.

Got the MD port going and find it way more enjoyable. Should have some more time to put into it tomorrow but I'm def over the original MSX version.

Rensha is autofire.
Does anybody ever used the actual shield? It stops actual shooting so I haven’t been able to use it properly

Well why didn't they say so? 😉

Yoshi - 148660 - MSX2 (Switch)

LV is the character level like an RPG. STAGE is which stage numbers you have finished. It goes like this:

123
456

So 12 means I beat Forest and Cemetery. The weapons not carrying over is where a lot of the difficulty comes from.
