Corky, have you tried using Isopropyl alcohol and a Q-tip to clean the contacts?

Actually, they are glued from the factory, and you don't have to take the cart apart to use an eraser, just get a small one that's not attached to a pencil.

Yep,like I said..

Try pulling the cart out of the system slightly.

Besides the cart contact cleaning you may also need to clean the connectors in your AES..

No, I've opened up a few AES carts of mine, and the two center posts actually are glued together. The outside of the shell is snapped together.
