How to get inside a Capcom Big Blue to access game boards?

OK, I am going to look at a Marvel vs Capcom 2 big blue cab. The guys says that the Naomi is reachable from the back panel. I want to know if I will be able to change boards easy from the front like Neo Geo MVS games.

If it's an authentic Big Blue cab then yes, there is an access door on the back that allows for easy board swapping. It's been about three years since I've sold my cab so I forget if it was a couple of screws or a few more, but I do remember it was an easy one to open. The CPS2 or Naomi setup will be positioned right as you open the back door on an inclined upwards portion of the cab, allowing you to easily take out the top cartridge and replace it. The Q-Sound amp and power supply are located in the same area with easy access and ample clearance for maintenance.

So no access to the front then? I really don't want to move the cab every-time I want to change games. Is it JAMMA with a Capcom I/O or JVS?

Nope, not unless it's the Dynamo HS-5 or equivalent. The Big Blues only allow coin/credit access on the front. The control panel does lift up for maintenance, and can be disconnected as well, but the entry inside from that point is limited to a small narrow opening.

The one I had was standard JAMMA for CPS2. I would suspect that someone modifying it to use a Naomi just threw a Capcom I/O in there.

No, that sucks was it hard to move it to change games or did you leave it away from the wall? I was going to drop some money for one delivered Saturday if I liked it. Is it still worth getting one if the price is right?

If its nice get it. Remove the leveling legs and replace them with casters from Lowes or Home Depot. Then it will be easy to spin the cab around to change the game.

All my new cabs receive casters as they come into my house. My old games will get them eventually also. So far the Pac-man I got Sunday and the Dedicated Midway Wrestlemania I got last weekend have them. They make the game a few inches taller but to a guy like me its more comfortable to play and MUCH easier to move.

That's a good idea, I wish I would have though of that. Maybe I could use that as a bargain tool to get it cheaper.
