Halo 3 Question

In halo one, I remember being able to switch difficulties mid game. Is this still possible with halo 3?

To my knowledge, no this is not possible.

Damn, that sucks. I think I accidentally deleted my halo save while trying to free up space for braveheart hd, lol. Well, now I'll be an expert at the first part of the game.
