Ghost Pilots and Last Resort?

Hey I'm thinking of purchasing these games any opinions or info regarding these games would be great so tell me a little about em I'd appreciate it. <IMG SRC="smilies/glee.gif" border="0">

I jus got my copy of Last Resort from NeoGeo2k2 today and it is pretty sweet. The graphic are pretty cool, it is impossible at some points.

They are great shooters but are different. Ghost Pilots is a vertical shooter like strikers and Last Resort is horizontal like Pulstar.

Get Last Resort. Ghost Polit is not real that fun.

I prefer ghost pilot.It is more classic but you will not be disgusted with the difficulty and if you play solo you will not obliged to restart at same point every time you die

Last Resort is the only game I have had to:

* Put the lives at 99
* Have an un-piloted 2nd player
* Not been able to beat with 99 lives

I want to like this game soooo much. It is probably one of the most dissapointing games. Dissapointing because if they would have fixed the one glaring problem (the set continue points)it would have been a classic. Even if it was a soft dip that was off by default like in View Point! As is this game is only fun with 2 players, or to make one go insane <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0"> It is just dripping with atmosphere, and the visuals and sound are so good... oh well, as is it is just a mediocore one player shooter.

Ghost Pilots has never been that good a game IMO... it's just too much of a quarter-muncher. Too many times you'll take cheap deaths and be slapping that Start button before you know it.

Last Resort, on the other hand is a VERY cool game. It's not THAT hard a game to finish, although the end of Level 4 on the 2nd loop can be pretty damn tough once you die. Still, I have gone through both loops on one life... on default difficulty...

Ghost Pilots is one of the best 194X clones out there but there are 2 glaring problems with that game.

1) Too many cheap hits and mandatory deaths.
2) No powerups when you die and you always start at level 1 firepower after each death.

At least ultra-hard shooters, like DoDonpachi, Batrider, any Atlus/Cave/Raizing shooter, gave you POWs or a full POW when you die.

I like Last Resort far much more, primarily because I'm a big fan of R-Type and the graphics are dark and gloomy - sets a great mood! The continue points do suck dog, I will admit.

I don't need 99 men to finish the game, however I do need to use the "unpiloted" 2nd player with a couple of bosses. It is a hard shooter - but fun!
