I would like to know what the differences are between the the MV-1B board and the MV-1C. Does the 1C also have the dipswitch included, as on the 1B? Or is the biggest difference just the way the cart is inserted on the two boards...?

yup, only difference to my knowledge is the way carts are inserted. I got a mv-1c, it has dipswitches.

I got this one 'cause i thought it was more practical with vertical cart position to change games often...

Take a look here

Personally I would stay away from both of those boards since the bios is soldered { you cant change it } and there is no support for things like stereo ,headphones or memory card. You should be able to buy an MV1-F or 2-F for about the same price.

bios :
you can, but it won't be easy.

stereo :
you can mod a 1b for stereo. might also be possible with a 1c.

headphones :
just hook up a jack ... and maybe a speaker to line level adapter, too.

memory card :
good point. :)

This one here is something I would like to see someone document how to do. I wouldn't mind trying a stereo mod on my MV-1C. Just don't know where to begin.

I remember that the stereo mod for the MV-1B requires that you build a circuit on a separate PCB which would make a consolization complicated and bad-looking...
