Why I'm selling it:
Ok, this will be a bit of a lenghty description/explanation. I wanted a refund for this from the original retailer but they refused a refund. I filed a complaint with Paypal and won, but I have to return the item (and have tracking) and I'll get a refund once the tracking shows it's been returned. However, places such as UPS, Fedex, and DHL would charge anywhere from $70 to $100+ to ship it back to Hong Kong. The cheapest I could find with some form of tracking was $40-ish at the US Postal Service. At those prices I thought maybe I'd try my luck selling it here to potentially save myself some hassle and hopefully come out ahead monetarily too compared to returning it to Hong Kong.
Pricing Details:
The thing cost me a grand total of $208.95 originally. With that in mind, I don't have a set sale price so send me your offers. I do want to make at least around the $208.95 minus the $40 I'd lose on return shipping. Highest offer will get it of course :P. One thing to note is I have until Feb. 3rd to give Paypal a tracking number for it or they close the case, so basically if nobody has bought this and paid me by then I'll be returning it so I don't miss my refund window. I'd highly prefer to just sell this to someone in North America. If you're overseas and really want it but don't mind paying the extra shipping costs then we might can work something out (but preference goes to a buyer in NA, unless your offer is a decent bit higher :P).
About the item and why I originally wanted a refund:
I originally got this before DavidG announced his much better converter. This converter was finicky for me. In a nutshell the issue is one of the pins in it seems extremely finicky about getting a proper connection. It only affected sound for me. The music in Blazing Star was garbled and the voice samples in Spin Master were silent with occasional static pops when there would be a voice. I could get it to work, but the converter had to be sitting juuuust right in my AES. You can read more details about in two of my threads here and here. They chronicle my experience with the converter and document my findings. Also, I didn't have any MVS games with scaling so I don't know how this converter performs with that.
About me:
I realize I haven't sold anything on this forum before so I'll try to bolster my credibility. BIG BEAR should be able to vouch for my credibilty. He loaned me Spin Master without any kind of collateral when I was troubleshooting my issues. Later he gave me the options of returning it or buying it so I just went ahead and bought it from him. I've paid DavidG for one of his converters too. Here's my Ebay feedback page which BIG BEAR would also be able to vouch for since I bought Blazing Star from him on Ebay.
If you've got any questions or comments just let me know.
EDIT: I might also accept MVS or AES games as payment or partial payment depending on the games, since that's probably what I'd be spending the money on anyway :P
