My Metal Slug X Cart had noise issues on the 2nd level (inside the tombs), and on the 2nd level boss. After openning the cart and cleaning the contacts with the eraser , i've noticed a cold solder joint on the pin 42 on the V3 IC. after cleaning the cart and re-soldered the joint, the issue dispperared. Its the sound data on the V3 ic or this was just a coincidence ?

[Edit] It appears that the broken solder joint was responsible for the noise issues.

Here is a quick breakdown of what is on which chips...

C chips are used to store the graphics or sprites.
V chips are used to store the various sound samples.
P chips contain the actual game code.
M1 chip is the controller for the sound chip.
S1 chip is used to store fonts, the game logo health bars and other game details.

Just for the records, I had a NAM-1975 cart with the same problem that I fixed the same way long ago. If some sound effects are not playing normally in a static manner, always the same sound effects and always in the same places, cold joints are definitely a possibility to consider.
