Like Rugby?

I'm sure there are some sort rules going on out there (I mean, they have someone dressed like a ref blowing a whistle for some reason or another), but I just can't figure it out by watching.

Yet I keep watching.

I saw Magic:The Gathering on ESPN2.

Not necessarily an answer to this thread, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I think it was an hour long tournament.

People in the audience, grown men, were literally hanging on the edge of their seats.

The play by play commentary was the most uninspired thing ever.

"the only thing that can save him right now is Ball Lightning....he got it...boom."

Now read that like you've just been shot full of Demerol and you'll see what it was like.

It was the worst thing ever.
I hope they show it again.

Rugby i just never understand just fun to watch someone get kicked in the head.

Also field hockey is one of the strangest sports ive ever seen. They call fouls when nothing happens??

Though, I understand what's going on in baseball, I don't like it... In fact, I think it sucks, xept for the when the players get into a rumble, he,he... Anyways, yeah, I also don't understand rugby...

LOL...

Well at least I can tell when a play is done.

There's also a visible level of strategy in US/Canadian football. And nothing in Rugby that I've seen can match the pagentry and excitement of going to a good college rivalry like Notre Dame-USC, USC-UCLA, or the Rose Bowl.

I think I watch rugby because it keeps moving, if it was paced like baseball... well...

I bowl, but I don't understand the point structure very well. I mean, I kind of do, but it's really hazy. It might help if I didn't drink so much beer when I go bowling.

I got you! I used to date a bowler .

Your pins equal your points for the frame.

If you get a strike your score remains 0...because you add the next two ball throws to your total for that frame.

Basically you get those points twice.

Example:

Strike on the first frame
6 pins on the first ball of the second frame
3 pins on the second ball of the second frame.

So you have a score of 19 for the first frame and 9 for the second, giving you a total of 28.

It keeps going on and on if you keep getting strikes...which is how you can get 300 points out of a 'possible' 130.
