atomiswave video brightness

My atomiswave looks great on my PC monitor with the VGA output, but for whatever reason is not compatible with LCD TV's vga input. So, I've tried using the RGB off the jamma like I do with my MVS (the neo looks perfect) through a vga converter and the screen is way too bright. The converter being used has no adjustments other than screen size, so i need to wire something in to adjust brightness before the converter. I am assuming I need to put potentinometers inline somehow, but have no idea how to wire them or what to get, as I've never worked with them.
