Anyone seen Supernatural the TV show?

I got into it last month after my cousin kept bugging me about it. I have always been a monster/ghost lover, so this looked right up my alley. Into Season 7 now. Really enjoyed Seasons 1-5. 6 was a bit of a bust/dull though. I hear 7 is the most disliked by fans, but so far I'm liking 7 more than 6.

Hard to believe it's entering its 10th season in the fall. It's definitely no Breaking Bad/Walking Dead, but it's an enjoyable guilty pleasure type.

The filler episodes are hit and miss, but I find the ones directly tied to the larger storyline to be damn entertaining. I do miss Jeffrey Dean Morgan though!

The wife and kids love Supernatural. I'll watch it with 'em sometimes but yeah, I prefer the on-going story arcs to "monster of the week" type episodes. Not a bad TV snack but definitely lacks the nutritional value of the more engaging/intelligent shows.

I happened to catch a bit of it when it was near the end of season 4 and some episodes into season 5. The stuff with the angels, the devil, etc. was damn entertaining. I had to stop, though. I just felt that I wasn't doing the show justice if I didn't start over from the beginning and catch up on what happened in the previous seasons. Never got around to it, though.

Quick question: Did the original creators of the show leave after the 5th season finished? Usually, when a show does that, it's time to move on, IMO.

Supernatural is great, not the most well thought out show but its consistently entertaining. I thought season 1 was ok, but season 2 is where it started to pick up and get better.

Me and the wife liked it up until after the devil. You can only take the show so far after you pretty much have the apocalypse.

My wife and I pretty much caught this show from the ground level. We loved it up until this recent season. Season 9 felt like it was jumping all over the place. We still watch it, but when they started the whole "Heaven and Hell" thing, it just became meh.

I just got into it around season 7 or 8.
I can't believe it's been around and I've never heard about it.
It's worth watching.
Really like the characters too.
I'm a fan of religious horror, so I'm okay with the heaven and hell direction.
Although to be fair, I haven't seen much previous to the latest seasons.

I had a roommate that made me watch this with her. It's okay, I've seen better and MUCH worse on TV. The only episode that ever stood out to me was the one with the killer mannequin, because the other other roommate was almost Sylvie level weird and collected mannequins so I got a little weirded out by the house mannequins.
