seen equilibrium for sale on bluray in walmart just the other day, that being said it looked pretty ghetto and bargain priced, It might be a bad transfer or something.

Some great choice here. A few that also came to mind due to the detailed sets and cinematography that would stand out in quality transfers:

Spider
The Pianist
Schindler's List
Cold Mountain

How much was it?

There seems to be a problem with the Blu-Ray release of that movie. There's a canadian(lol) release that has been chopped to 1:85:1 and there's a UK version which is supposed to be better. I think the canadian release is sold in certain retailers in the US.

Then there's the $90 Rebellion(Japanese release) which has the proper aspect, tons of extras and all the subs/dubs/langs you could want...but the price is a joke.

What's up with that?!

For me, Goldeneye desperately needs a BR release.

I guess this would have to be the Canadian version as I'm in canada :), It had a average to amateur looking insert graphic which was really not at all fitting to the movie. I think it was around 10 bucks, 15 at the most.

I didn't look at any close details on the packaging like features because I don't have a big interest in owning the movie, But the packaging stood out in my memory as its such a departure to the posters and boxes I've seen from that movie in the past.

EDIT: http://www.amazon.ca/Equilibrium-Blu-ray-Christian-Bale/dp/B002HFWAWW yeah this would be the one I seen.

The JPN HD DVD version of Rebellion/Equilibrium is still the best, but no point in shelling out too much for it now that the format is kaput. Though I haven't seen the JPN BD, which is supposedly on par with its HD DVD counterpart.

Still waiting for a BD of Strange Days w/o the L/R audio channels crossed over as well...dammit.

It's from Alliance, and they have done some ghetto releases. Some of them are 1080i and cut to 1.78:1 instead of the original 2.40:1 (Equlibrium is not, though), so they're likely based on crappy HDTV masters instead of proper Blu-ray transfers. This particular release lacks high definition sound, though, and I definitely would not buy it. I'd wait for a better release.
