Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet should be a no brainer on Blu-Ray too. It's a 4 hour movie filmed in 70 mm film. I'd love this one on BD, but it took almost 10 years to get it on DVD, so I'm not holding my breath.

Yes.

I think my mom has a copy of this on VHS from her english teaching days.

Ooh, good choice. I didn't even know that finally came out on DVD... Maybe I'll track it down some time. Aside from a few questionable cameos (like Jack Lemmon... Oy), that is one of my favourite film adaptations of the Bard.

And as long as we're talking Shakespeare on film, add Titus to the list.

And, because Steve McQueen is awesome, I also nominate Papillion.

True Lies...

No, it's not the greatest film in the world but the only version of the film still available is a shitty letterbox Laserdisc rip released in the late 90's. To this day I still don't know why this is figuring the treatment the rest of Arnold's film have received...Well....there is that post 9/11 story about Fox not wanting to remaster it bla, bla, bla but that was 9 years ago...I think it would be safe to reissue it now...

How about an uncut version of Clive Barker's Nightbreed?

My #1 most-wanted BD catalog title, for several years now, has been 13 Ghosts.

It's fun as hell to watch, worth repeat viewings, it has really stylish visuals, great soundtrack...

I know Warner has a huge number of titles in their catalog to choose from, but really, I would think that people would snap that one up, I can't figure out how it hasn't come out.

Yes.

And a sequel.

No sequel necessary. I like the movie a lot, but that's why I'd hate to see it go down the same road as Hellraiser -- watered down with increasingly unimaginative follow-ups created by increasingly unimaginative writers and directors who are not Clive Barker. No thanks. I'm fine with the open ending of the novella and movie.

Nope. Give Clive 20 million dollars and a film crew and get the thing done.

I liked the second one. So did Clive, though he said it's not the movie he would have made.

The movie Tampopo needs to see a re-release/ upgrade to BD. Great little Japanese movie, that now costs an arm and a leg.

Circuitry Man - One of my favorite Sci Fi movies. Needs a re-release.

Another +1 for Delusion and It Came From Hollywood.

I see on Amazon that they have Sundown: Vampire in Retreat out on DVD, I need to pick that up.

Edit: Just checked Amazon and they've got a new release of Tampopo on there. Freaking sweet.

I remember getting Tampopo at Borders for $14.99. When I saw this thread the first movie that came to my mind was another Juzo Itzami movie:
A Taxing Woman Returns- never came out on DVD I believe, still have my VHS copy
http://www.amazon.com/Taxing-Womans...=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=video&qid=1272841220&sr=8-3
The original Taxing Woman is a rare Dvd too (lucked out and got it at TLA video for $4.99 a long time ago.) the original print is very expensive
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=a+taxing+woman

Great movies on par with Tampopo

Also, I'd love to see ALL of the Space Adventure Cobra series come out on dvd in the U.S.
What about Megaforce too? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megaforce Definitely needs a release for its 80's cheese

Last and not least, one of the worst movies ever made Santogold/ Blood Circus (Santo/Santigold had to change her name over this):
http://www.santogold.com/

I'd be afraid to give the guy money for the DVD as he would probably rip me off. I remember seeing these commercials late at night as a kid with WWF wrestlers, he had a scam selling fake gold plated chains.

I've always wondered if any of his other stuff was any good. I'll have to track down a copy or torrent of A Taxing Woman.

If you have any Japanese community near you, check out some video stores. I picked up a region free dvd of Taxing Woman Returns (with subtitles!) from a little shop that operates out of the Mitsuwa shopping center near me.
