yea i managed to grab martial masters and killing blade a while back they are both great games what really impresses me is how fluid and detailed the animation is in Martial masters seriously this is like Street fighter 3 (CPS3) quality.

im definantly impressed with it. Quoth I actually quite like KOV1 I still dust my copy off and give it a whirl every now and then but I do agree with you KOV2/9D are definantly TONS better just so much more of everything and the boss mode is just such an awesome addition. I also bought do don pachi and its a great to play I tried the PSX version and it was on my wish list since then.

To everyone with PGM motherboards, watch that battery. I had a spare in storage and when I recently pulled it out I discovered this:

Unfortunately for me I didn't get to it soon enough and a couple of traces were damaged. If you've had one of these for a while or have one that hasn't been used recently I suggest you take a look at it.

I've already removed the battery from my other PGM motherboard and all of my Cave PGM boards. The battery only saves system settings and is not needed to make the game run like Capcom's suicide battery.

I had to remove my battery and clean off the PCB for the same reason about a month ago. The acid had just started to move to the PCB, so luckily no permanent damage was done. I've been looking for a suitable replacement that fits the footprint, but I have not been able to find anything. If anyone comes up with something other than this poor brand of battery, please share.

Done.

Since the board has a rechargeable battery, simply remove the 470 ohm resistor and D2 and you can use a 3V Lithium coincell in it's place. But you will need to cut a small section of the battery holder to make room for the toggle switch.

Just did the battery mod on my PGM. Works great. Thanks James, you rule :emb:

It's too bad there's no room for a battery holder on the Cave PGM boards.

They are all still in a loving home. :)

i've said it once, and i'll say it again.. Martial Masters is the most underrated fighting game EVER!

I never really got to play bee storm properly. I had to play on a horizontal screen with my head turned. :lolz:

Hail The Chief!

@The Chief: Thank you VERY much for warning us about the leaking batteries on PGM boards. I've just checked mine and two of them were already showing the symptoms, so I managed to safe them just in time. Thanks a lot!:buttrock:

how much would one of these and Demon Front go for nowadays?

I seem to recall one recently selling for around $150.

What is the difference between all the Knights of Valour carts? Someone is trying to sell me three different ones, but I'm pretty sure I only need one. Aren't they all the same game?

Edit: I guess at least one of them must be 2, and another probably Super Heroes. Different games? I sent a message back to ask which three games they are.

theres a whole mess of different versions and they are all actually pretty awesome. Knights of Valour SuperHeroes and Knights of Valour 2 Nine dragons are the ones to get in my opinion. If you only get one of them, make it nine dragons. So many secrets and hidden shit in these games I love them... some of the "events" needed to unlock certain things are completely insane.

So the original one and Super Heroes are different enough to buy both? They're like different games?

The seller sent a pic. One is maybe the original (pic sucks too much to read), one is 2, and the other is a Korean-labeled The Gladiator. Not sure I want Korean versions in my collection. He's offering 6 carts for $290. I think I might pass on the Korean one and Dragon World. It sounds like he's willing to split it up.

Are the carts universal, or am I going to be stuck with the in-game language if I buy a Korean or Chinese PGM cart?

Id say that the first one and Super Heroes are different enough to warrant getting both... but play the first one first. Most of the stages are the same but the enemies and playable characters are different. Actually there are alot of differences between the 2 but it has been so long since I played them I cant really recall.

KoV; Nine Dragons is kind of like an upgraded version of KoV2... great game. Price sounds right on for all of those as well man.

Unfortunately you will be stuck with whatever region the cart is, but the motherboards will play any region.

I'm getting the PGM motherboard plus seven games for $370 shipped in Korea for free because the seller is in Korea. It was going to be six games but he just found a puzzle game in his arcade stuff he says, so he's throwing it in for free. I imagine it's Puzzle Star or something, but I don't care since I'm just starting PGM collecting. One of the games is Demon Front. The motherboard is $80, so the seven games are $290. I'd say it's a fuck of a deal, and I'd like to see anyone try and beat it. Even if I decide I don't want some of the Korean language games or something, I can probably sell them to someone else and get all of the money back.

I've always been on the fence regarding this platform. Sounds like it's time to get off it.

My honest opinion is for $370 thats a bargain. I've seen knights of valour nine dragons go for $160 one time on its own.

I bought demon front and a pgm mobo for £160 and I thought that was a steal and generally demon front goes for around £70 on ebay on its own.

Count me as an owner!

$370 for everything together. The stuff was shipped overnight in Korea. The games (from top to bottom) are: Demon Front, Oriental Legend, Knights of Valour, Knights of Valour 2, The Gladiator, Dragon World II, Dragon World 3.

I can't play them because I have no supergun here. I'm dying to try them though. I'm gonna buy a 4-player harness first thing. There wouldn't happen to be anyone here with a spare laying around?

That's a nice instant collection for a great price. I've got a few of those myself, Demon Front, Knight of Valor and The Gladiator(PCB version) and can say they are all pretty cool. I've wanted to pick up Knights of Valor 2 but it's usually pretty expensive.

Apparently this stuff is sold every cheap in Korea, if you stumble on any more deals like that you should pick them up. Even if they are games you already have I'm sure members here would scoop them up off of you.

Also, be sure to check the battery on the motherboard to make sure it hasn't started leaking. After getting my damaged(due to battery leakage) PGM board fixed both of my mother boards are battery free.

The battery has enough corrosion on the sides that it looks like it'll be ready to go at any time. I'm going to have to do the mod.

Also, it might be bad to talk about this, but I noticed that there are roms seated in slots on the cartridge PCBs. I wonder if any one of them can be replaced to change the language on the carts. I prefer my games in Japanese or English.

Sorry for the double post. Yep, I know changing the roms is sacrilege.
