Hellfire and Granadax don't come up in enough "best megadrive shooter" lists for me.

Granada (there is no "x", it's just a graphical element of the in-game logo, btw.) is vey cool but it's not really a vert or hori shmup. It definitely is underrated though, just like other Wolfteam games.

My picks? Raiden III and Dragon Blaze.

I think the Toaplan shooters Zero Wing and Hellfire are very underrated.

I definitely agree with you on Dragon Blaze. I think that game is fantastic. I also really enjoy Sol Divide, which is why I love that 2 in 1 collection on PS2

Detana!! TwinBee is a great little shooter that most people haven't heard about. Check it out in MAME, because the console ports suck.

In The Hunt
I seem to recall that when it was released for the Saturn and PS1 it received horrible reviews, but it's really quite enjoyable.

I also played Shienryu constantly when it was released for the Saturn, and despite receiving some attention when it was re-released for the PS2, it didn't seem to be well received when it first arrived on the scene.

Dettana Twinbee wasn't bad on the PCE either, though Twinbee Yahho! is alot of fun too and pretty to look at.

Yeah i remember one British magazine giving it 3% out of a 100 :oh_no:

Being the greatest thing ever created, Batsugun will forever be underrated and underappreciated.

Guardian Force is a great shmup that don't get a lot of praise. So that's my pick.

I don't think the NES version of Section Z gets enough love..

If only it had a save function (Like the FDS).

Hell, the cart pcb even has a battery slot!
