There has been a lot of white girls in this show so far.

None of them love T-Dog.

Hollywood and internet porn teaches us that white women only like brothas who slap them around, rape them while listening to gangsta rap, and then steal their furniture before they wake up the next morning. Oh, and it helps if they've done hard time for murder.

T-Dog showed promise early on, but was subdued by that racist cracka. That ain't cool mane.

Telltale Games is doing a game based on the Walking Dead comic. A nice look to it, thankfully not the same style as their Back to the Future and Monkey Island games.

We'll just have to wait and see if it really does feel like a game version of the comic without using too many cameo crutches (they've already mentioned appearances by Glenn and the farm)

So, now we're to believe that the zombie virus is something like an airborne thing where everyone is a carrier now so that when you die in any manner you wake up as a zombie?

The Shane death scene was done well enough, although I kept expecting Daryl to pop out of the woods while he had his gun drawn and put an arrow in his head.

It does look like the end of the farm though, although the horde of walkers just waiting right beyond the farm boundaries waiting for Carl's gunshot (despite ignoring the Dale gunshot last week) seems a bit of a stretch.

That's how it is in the comic.

Episode was alright, looks like all hell is gonna break loose and they'll have to ditch the farm and hopefully run into another group of people.

I don't believe the virus is airborne or anything like that. Its more likely that when it spread, everyone got infected and when they die, they come back.

The only thing T-Dog did in this episode was get slapped around by white people. First Herschel takes the couch away from him and then Shane takes his gun from him.

This fuckin' show...

I fear for if Morgan ever comes back( for you non comic readers that's the other black guy who had a son with him and was around with Rick for a couple episodes before he took off in season 1 )

I do fear if Tyrese ever shows up how they'd treat him

I was waiting for that too, but then you couldnt have multiple witnesses to the dead rising without bites. Carl did seem to shoot right through daddy though.

hey- the lost couch and gun was an exchange for a couple of lines.

i am looking forward to some serious gunplay next week. farm gets overrun, time to leave! Horay! Merle for Governor next season!

You know what I don't do when I don't want things spoiled? Go into a thread that's had recent posts in it immediately after the show aired.

That said, I love the Street Fighter Alpha 2 setting for the final shodown (lol) between Shane and Rick.

Although I kind of like the comic scenario more, in that when they found out that everybody is carrying the virus, Rick drove all the way back to Shane's grave to dig him up and put him to rest. I wonder if they'll do the same to Dale.

EDIT - Nevermind, Dale was shot in the head.

That's more or less how it happened in the book, I am Legend . And that book was the genesis for all modern Zombie fiction.

But how did they get infected then? I don't really care, I'm just trying to understand if how Shane and Randall came back is new or if this has been happening all along except no one has noticed. I do recall the two cops at the Randall drop point that Rick or Shane mentioned they had no bites, but I thought that scene was more important for the fact that they were two dead cops side by side like Rick and Shane should have been rather than the no bites thing.

I also didn't quite understand the scene after Shane was dead where it was a slightly opened eyelid shot with walkers all around. Is that supposed to have been Shane somehow? I didn't get it.

I'll give a +1 to the angles not quite working for Carl's shot. Shane would have had to be 12 feet tall.

I think that's the point of most zombie stories. Nobody knows how the shit started or what caused it. It's all about dealing with the shit.

Yeah, I think you're pretty much at a point of 'it doesn't matter how it started or what makes it work' once you suspend your disbelief for zombies walking around at all all. The point's pretty much, as Wes said, to watch how people deal with it.

I know Michonne's an extremely popular character, and I undestand why. I wouldn't say people shouldn't like her or anything like that.

It just feels like she walked in from a different subgenre of zombie story with her katana and her zombies on a leash and her badassery. The Walking Dead is more early Romero with regular people (some with limited military or law enforcement backgrounds) fending for themselves, IMO, and she feels like she may as well be right out of Dead Rising.

what im wondering is, if the dead can return to life without being "infected"(by what we believe transmits the infection), then is there a possibility that the yet-to-be-born baby could be developing as an infected?...
and if so, does that mean mankind can no longer reproduce?

/me watches as walking dead turns into y the last man ...

Well, I guess this seems different because from the beginning I had accepted that a bite would turn you. I was ok with that premise. This is a new development to me and it seems like it is a change although like I said it may not be. So I'm not saying that I'm unable to accept it as just part of the story, but I am curious as to what changed (if anything).

So for those that have read the comic (not you Taiso! :emb:) this is how it was from the beginning?

This is how it goes down in the comics as well. They find out this fact later on, though. In the comic, Shane has Rick at gunpoint and Carl shoots Shane in the neck, killing him. They bury Shane, and later on in the story when they find out, Rick drives all the way back to Shane's grave (I forget exactly where they are when this happens --the prison?) to dig him up and shoot him in the head. He leaves his body, though, and says he isn't going to bury him twice, before he rides out.

They had just assumed that it was the bite that infected them, but really it was the bite that killed them. A pre-existing infection is what reanimated them. Direct contact with zombie "juice" likely infects people for sure if they somehow weren't already infected, but a scratch or a bite gives them a bad case of the "blood poop" that leads to a quick demise, at which point the infection (that they already had) kicks in and reanimates them.

if that was true then the baby would just eat its way out of lori- alien chestburster style. come to think of it- THAT would be great television. Also it would be a way to get rid of the single most useless part of the show.
