To all the neo geo fans,
I hope that posting things about NGF and getting people talking about "deals gone wrong" with NGF has opened up a lot of people's eyes to the truth. I know that is has for myself.
When I say the "truth" it has nothing to do with who sent what, what wasn't paid for, who never got the cart.. It's about being a close knit community for a greater cause.
We all enjoy a common pastime that is very expensive. And with being expensive there is a certain degree of comfort that has to be there in order to send $400+ in the mail to someone that you have probably never talked to in person let alone shook their hand.
I invited Dion here for a reason. Most everyone here was bashing NGF and Dion, including myself. However as I read posts from people I started to feel ashamed. Mainly because the guy wasn't even on the forum to stand up for himself, or tell his side of the story. Now that he is here, the waters are becoming calm again. To me it feels like the neo has been giving another jolt of life.
I hope that we all learn something from this experience. Again, I've seen bashing from topics like who had what carts first, to Jason's crap story of "$1600 in shit". Come on guys...if half of these stories are true then who do we really need to watch out for? Dion and NGF? Ourselves?
I guess that my aim in this is to present a mission statement of some sort. Let's do what we everything that we can individually to keep the waters calm.
Mabye we could adopt a universal form of doing business for our Neo community only? A standard. Shipping only priority with delivery conformation.
Maybe we could have an annual convention one day? Rent out a place close to everyone and hook up as many neo's as we can, get some beer and BBQ and play neo all day for a weekend. Settle our little disputes over a game of MOTW?
High hopes? Maybe. I think it can and should be done. Well I think I've said my piece. Post how you personally feel.
Mike out.
