I don't think I've ever worked with anyone who was into gaming beyond the superficial of whatever gaming system / systems were contemporaneous to the time that I worked with said people. There were a few lads at school who were into games, back in the SNES / MD days, but whether any of them took that interest into their adult lives, I couldn't tell you.
In fact, outside of my son, I don't think I know anyone in my personal or professional life right now whom I could hold even a half-decent conversation with regarding retro games / systems...

I have a tight knit group of local friends into this stuff so we can hang out and relax. No judgement, no excessive weirdness. Just normal people who are functional adults playing some games and shooting the shit. Not everyone is this lucky.
