I have the same issue. I connected to Viletim's adapter connected to an MVS-U4 candy cab and the contrast was very dim, unplayable. I have no issues using my PC Engine setup with Viletim's adapter/SCART/MVS-U4 combo. I took the CDX and plugged into a Sony PVM-1342Q using the composite cables and the image contrast was perfect.
The CDX RGB SCART cable I got off of ebay from Retro_Console_Accessories with the video sync. I've since ordered another similar cable from Retro Gaming Cables. I doubt it's the cable though??? If the Caps were going bad and needing replacement would it explain perfect contract using composite cables vs. the SCART cable set-up????
I'm just a little confused. I am using the authentic original CDX power supply incase anyone wonders.
