It looked like the belts were on a clothes hanger when they got pulled down last night. There is still time to fix it but if they don't want to kill Reigns (hometown boy from here in Pensacola along with the Usos) they need to move fast. Ambrose proved that he is 100% worthy of being at main event level as are a number of guys, going back to the same old crutch is failing.

It sucks that WWE themselves leaked out the results of the PPV, I wouldn't have been as pissed with them giving the strap back to Cena if I didn't know it ahead of time. I really hope Bray, Cesaro and Roman get more time to shine. I would have loved to see one of them give it a run. I'd love to see Bray run as the champ. We need another GOOD heel run that isn't from Orton who put on a hell of a show last night in spite of cracking his head open. Part of me wanted to see Trips and Step walk up and shake Cena's hand but considering all the work he does for charity I doubt they'll ever go Hollywood Hogan and turn him heel.

The other MITB match was REALLY good, even with the typical screwjob ending. I knew when I saw the ref pull Zeb out of the way I knew Kane was coming in to fuck up Dean. Maybe they'll have it so he can go up against Seth for the contract at the next PPV to get some revenge. The bump that Seth had on the ladder was sick!

Also, why the hell where BNB and Sheamus involved in the MITB matches when their already champions? You can't tell me they can't find two other guys who deserve some quality PPV time? That just bugged me. You knew they'd never give Sheamus the Heavyweight Belt when he's already the US champion and why should BNB get a contract for a title when he's already the IC champ?

I was really impressed with Orton and Ambrose last night. Ambrose really set his own path last night as a singles person and Orton stepped it back up and didn't seem to phone it in like he usually does. Me and the wife just flicked the TV off when Cena won. So boring and stale and the Summerslam poster seems more and more likely.

WWE RAW Results: 6-30-14

Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Caldwell's complete report). Condensed here to the highlights (no personal comments as I didn't watch the show...yet).

Triple H and Stephanie started the show. Cena came out. Main event named for the next PPV as well as tonight.

1-- SETH ROLLINS vs. ROB VAN DAM

RVD was on his way to the ring back from break. Once the bell sounded, RVD frustrated Rollins by knocking him out of the ring. Rollins sold back pain from the MITB ladder match last night, then re-entered the ring and took another beating from RVD, who was selling leg pain from MITB. RVD continued to dominate, even putting Rollins in a leg submission until Rollins rolled out of the ring again. RVD followed up this time and took a big clothesline from Rollins. Rollins in control heading to break.

Back from break, Rollins was working on RVD back in the ring. RVD fought back with a kick strike, then nailed Rolling Thunder for a two count. RVD then positioned Rollins for a split-legged moonsault to Rollins's injured back for another two count. But, Rollins came back with a leg whip to the injured leg. Rollins tried to follow with a piledriver or perhaps a Bucklebomb, but his back gave out. So, Rollins tried again, but RVD countered with a mid-air head scissors.
RVD climbed to the top turnbuckle for Five-Star, but he took too much time, allowing Rollins to slowly roll out of the ring. RVD adjusted his flight plan and took out Rollins with a big splash on the outside. But, Rollins caught RVD on the way back into the ring and twisted his knee into the ropes. RVD sold, then Rollins nailed the Curb Stomp. Rollins slowly covered and it was good for the pin and the win.

WINNER: Rollins at 11:43. Nice match. Rollins needed a clean victory, RVD could afford to give him one, and RVD had an "out" of getting worked over the night before at MITB. Also of note, RVD has suddenly come to life after going through the motions for a few months.

Lana and Rusev bad-mouthing America as always. Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger appear and take Rusev out. Face turn for Swagger?

2 -- U.S. champion SHEAMUS & WWE tag champs THE USOS (JIMMY & JEY) vs. THE WYATTS (BRAY WYATT & LUKE HARPER & ERICK ROWAN) -- six-man tag match

The Usos and Sheamus quickly asserted themselves, sending Raw to an early break with the face trio in control.

The Wyatts were in control back from break. The crowd tried to rally behind the Usos, but Rowan, Harper, and Bray continued to tag in and out working on Jimmy. He eventually broke free and tagged in Sheamus, who ran over the heels with power offense. Rowan went flying to the ring apron, where Sheamus lit him up with Ten Forearms to the Chest. Harper saved Rowan from further blows, but Sheamus took out both men with a splash from the ring apron.

Sheamus tossed Rowan back into the ring, ducked a clothesline, and scoopslammed Rowan. Sheamus But, Bray distracted Sheamus before he could finish Rowan. The heels re-assumed control, then Harper smashed Sheamus with a big running boot to the face. The Wyatts started working on Sheamus, building to a hot tag to one of the Usos. And, losing some of the crowd, which started chanting JBL's name.

At 12:00, Sheamus finally broke free and tagged in Jey Uso. Jey cleared Harper from the ring, then flew over the top rope with a big splash on the outside. Back in the ring, Uso ducked Harper and kicked him in the face. Chaos in the ring, then Harper smashed Uso with a big clothesline. Harper covered and it was good for the pin and the win.

WINNERS: Wyatts at 13:06. Interestingly, Bray continues to feel like more of a background player ever since losing to John Cena, even in his own group, giving way to the new Face of the Wyatts, Luke Harper. Good tag match.

3 -- NIKKI BELLA vs. CAMERON & NAOMI -- handicap match

Cameron wanted to start the match, so Naomi took the high road and obliged. Cameron mocked Nikki's sister drama in-between slaps, then Naomi tagged herself into the match. Naomi quickly got the win, embarrassing Cameron. Post-match, Cameron recovered and entered the ring to push and shove Naomi, who shoved back. They nearly came to blows, but Cameron walked out on Naomi.

WINNER: Naomi at 2:10. The slow burn continues, while Nikki did not put up much of a fight facing the stacked deck. Has she not paid attention to any of John Cena's storylines over the last ten years?

Wade Barrett will be out for a few months so the IC tile is vacant and a Battle Royal will determine the new champ at Battleground.

4 -- CESARO (w/Paul Heyman) vs. KOFI KINGSTON

As Cesaro and Kofi battled, Lawler asked JBL if karma came back to bite Barrett in the butt after delivering all that bad news for months. Meanwhile, Cole said Kofi is really fun to watch, especially when ladders are involved. If only he could win a pesky match or two. In the ring, Cesaro worked on Kofi as some of the vocal males chanted for Ziggler. Kofi tried to fight back, but Cesaro scoopslammed him.

Cesaro teased the Big Swing, but pulled off, drawing boos. Lawler said he could sense the crowd wanted to see the Swing, so he did not give it to him. Suddenly, Kofi scored a close two count, but Cesaro cut him off in the corner. A "C-M Punk" chant picked up some steam heading to break.

Back from break, the match was over. Yes, a match ended during the break. Of course, it was Kofi, who finally got a win, and they didn't even show it on TV. The ending was to set up Cesaro with a big post-match attack. Cesaro blasted Kofi out of the ring, then into the crowd, chucking Kofi into barricades in the stands. Back to ringside, Cesaro continued to assault Kofi. WWE then cut to a replay of the match finish on the App before replaying Cesaro destroying Kofi after the match.

WINNER: Kofi (unverified by real-time visual TV evidence) at 8:40ish. Creative way to protect Cesaro by having him lose and not show it real-time on TV, then give him the big spotlight of a post-match attack. At least they gave Kofi a replay of the victory, but it's comical they chose a Kofi victory to be the first match where a match ended during the break.

Sandow comes out dressed as Mr. McMahon. Steph not too pleased with that...

5 -- GREAT KHALI vs. DAMIEN SANDOW

Khali Chop, slow cover, and a three count. That was it for Sandow as Khali's grown-out hair filled the screen in his TV return. After a replay of the match, Khali returned to stand over Sandow and pose after getting his cue.

WINNER: Khali Chop at 0:06.

Limo with past champion reveals the return of...The Miz! Wait, there's more...the return of Chris Jericho who takes out the Miz with a Codebreaker, which in turn is taken out by Sister Abigail by Bray Wyatt.

6 -- DOLPH ZIGGLER vs. FANDANGO (w/Layla)

On the App, Layla and Summer Rae agreed to a truce. How long will that last? Fandango tried to one-up Ziggler with gyrations, which angered Ziggler. But, Fandango cut off Ziggler and got a smooch from Layla on the ring apron. Ziggler made a comeback on Fandango, then Summer Rae suddenly walked into the ring and made sure Fandango was looking before she kissed Ziggler. Fandango sold being heart-broken, then Summer and Ziggler went at it even more in the ring. "Summer, what are you doing?" Fandango asked.

Suddenly, Ziggler sprung on Fandango with the Zig-Zag, popping the crowd. Ziggler made the pin for the win as Layla sold annoyance in the background, both with Summer for the interruption and Fandango for being too into Summer.

WINNER: Ziggler at 2:37. And Raw is back to short-length matches after a nice start with two long-form matches in the first hour.

7 -- GOLDUST & STARDUST vs. RYBACK & CURTIS AXEL

"Look at you, you're nothing!" Axel shouted in Goldust's face to begin things. Ryback then tagged in to put the boots to Goldust. Ryback wanted the Meathook Clothesline on Goldust, but Goldie ducked and tagged in Stardust. Cody used his quickness to avoid Axel, who also tagged in. Cody cleared Ryback, too, then nailed a swinging faceplant on Axel for the pin and the win. Cue up the post-match interpretive dance.

WINNERS: Rhodes Bros. at 3:25. Repeat for those who don't have the Network. Or didn't order the PPV.

WWE RAW Results: 6-30-14 (continued)

In-ring: Divas champion Paige was introduced to the ring for a promo. Paige took the mic and listened to the crowd before noting she's a woman of few words who lets her actions speak for her, but now she knows there were a few people who thought she did not deserve to be a champion. But, she feels like in the past three months, she deserves to be here and she has proven that she is here to stay.

Suddenly, A.J. Lee's music played. And out came A.J. making her return to TV for the first time since the night after WrestleMania when Paige won the title from her. A.J. skipped around the ring, then entered the ring to "C-M Punk" chants.

A.J. said she came out here just to tell Paige that she is right. She said this isn't entirely easy for her to say, but Paige did what no woman in almost a year could do - she proved her wrong. A.J. said she let success go to her head. And, yes, she was the longest-reigning Divas champion of all-time. But, she should not have rubbed it in everyones's faces like she did. Then, Paige gave her the slap of reality that she needed. So, she wants to return the favor by saying thank you and congratulations.

Paige asked A.J. how stupid she thinks she is doing the exact same thing she did to her. Besides, she doesn't think anyone here wants to see her defend the Divas Title against her tonight. The crowd said they want to see the match, upon A.J.'s leading, then Paige agreed to defend the title. A referee was on stand-by and the match was on.

8 -- Divas champion PAIGE vs. A.J. LEE -- Divas Title match

Paige was aggressive early on, using headbutts to knock down A.J. after withstanding an early attack from A.J. Paige then got in A.J.'s face and continued to attack her, but A.J. fought back and rolled up Paige out of nowhere for a three count, causing Paige to make the same mistake that A.J. made the night after WrestleMania. Paige sold shock in the ring as A.J. paraded around the ring with the title, then shock turned to tears.

WINNER: A.J. at 1:04 to re-capture the Divas Title. And, the Divas Division is back on-track setting up the inevitable long-form match between Paige and A.J. Oh, and A.J. did not look pregnant.

9 -- WWE World Hvt. champion JOHN CENA & ROMAN REIGNS vs. RANDY ORTON & KANE

The bell sounded six minutes before the top of the hour and the ritualistic "Let's Go Cena / Cena Sucks" chants started up as Cena and Orton started the match. Reigns tagged in and wanted Orton, but Orton opted to tag in Kane. Reigns promptly clotheslined Kane over the top rope and Raw cut to break with Hunter trying to talk sense into an angry Kane.

Raw returned one minute before the top of the hour with Orton working on Reigns, apparently now feeling confident enough to square off with Reigns. Orton and Kane started exchanging tags leading to the top of the hour.

Reigns fought back against Orton, nailing a running forearm to the chest. A big corner clothesline followed. No tag to Cena, as Reigns opted to leave the ring and square off with Kane, who ate the guardrail. But, Orton snuck up behind Reigns and clotheslined him to the ground, drawing a sly smile from Hunter.

Back in the ring, Reigns fought back against Kane, but Orton tagged in and cut off Reigns. Meanwhile, Lawler decided to flash back to earlier in the show when Swagger encountered Rusev. Cole added that Kofi won a match against Cesaro on the App. Reigns finally made the tag to Cena, and the Pro-Cena fans exploded. Cena cleaned house, then teased the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Orton as Hunter stood up at ringside.

Shuffle connected, then Cena teased the AA, but Orton fought out. Kane tagged in for Orton, then Kane took a Shuffle from the Champ. Cena wanted to end Kane, but Orton snuck back into the ring to drop Cena with an RKO. "Yeah!" from Hunter. But, Reigns cleared Orton before nailing a Superman Punch on Kane. Orton and Reigns fought up the ramp toward the back.

Meanwhile, Kane chucked Cena into the ring steps back at ringside. Kane then decided to re-arrange the ring steps to inflict punishment to Cena, smashing him in the forehead. The ref called for the bell, DQ'ing Team Kane as Hunter walked over to the scene. "Finish him," Hunter told Kane. Back in the ring, Kane hoisted Cena in the air for a Tombstone Piledriver, and he connected. Big smile from Hunter, who will explain afterward that he "got caught up in the moment" and wasn't showing his true feelings.

WINNERS: Team Cena via DQ at 12:05.

Kane and Hunter conferenced, then a medic hit the ring to check on Cena. Hunter decided to slip into the ring to check on Cena, or pretend to check on Cena. Hunter checked Cena for life, then Hunter waved toward the back. Out came Seth Rollins with his MITB briefcase. Rollins surveyed Cena's condition, then handed over the briefcase. Ref John Cone was reluctant to make the match official, giving Dean Ambrose enough time to storm the ring out of nowhere and attack Rollins, driving him out of the ring.

Rollins high-tailed it into the crowd, but Ambrose chased him down and they fought into the crowd. Back at ringside, Hunter told ref Cone he's an idiot, then Kane started re-arranging furniture. Kane wanted to end Cena with a chair, but Reigns stormed the ring and speared Kane right in Hunter's face. Reigns and Hunter had a staredown from a distance as the crowd shouted, "Yes!" at the scene. Hunter, seething and holding Rollins's briefcase, pointed toward something over Reigns's shoulder, but Reigns did not move. "This is awesome" chant from the crowd as the two men continued to stare each other down. Long staredown.

Hunter then hopped off the ring apron to boos. The Shield's music played as Hunter walked away from ringside and Reigns matched his glare with a stare. Raw signed off 11 minutes past the top of the hour.

The Wyatts should have won all the champioships. Tag champs and WWE/WHWC the triad would have been perfect, just the right time to have cena go awol, come back all rogue agent, no words, just ziplines from the ceiling and coming down with new moves and camo makeup everywhere.

Roman needs more time training, his move set is poor at best.

All of this is correct.

Emma didn't get to show off on the big show just how good she really was, gotta go back to the NXT videos for that. However I don't blame them for releasing her over this since it was a dumb ass thing on her part and the excuse of "It was the self-checkout aisle! I must have missed it!" is pretty lame. Plus her not being a citizen and here on a work visa can always complicate things for the WWE since it can cause issues with them taking those performers to other places and countries.

But how many have gotten popped for drugs and got a slap on the wrist?

Didn't Naomi get a DUI a couple weeks ago or because she's on Total Divas they'll just sweep it under the rug

Yeah, they blew that introduction.

Also, wasn't her gimmick kind of that of a mentally challenged person (like Charlie Therzon in Arrested Development)?

I'm not saying it was the right thing for them to do, all I say is that I can see where they are coming from. Pretty much if you are in a big enough program you can get away with damn near anything in the WWE but Emma did get the short end of the stick with this. I'm very happy that they brought her back and it seems that TMZ bad press helped get the fire going, but the "internal punishment" she is going to have to deal with will not be pretty.

Apparently, the WWE is grooming Renee Young for commentary one of the regular shows (probably smack-down). She is pretty good on NXT. She always one-ups the other commentators when they seemingly have contests to see who can make up the most ridiculous "fact" about an onscreen performer.

She also might be the best straight-man style interviewer since Mean Gene.

STEEL SURPRISE
July 01, 2004

JBL may believe that his WWE Championship reign is the “dawn of a new era” in sports entertainment, but sundown might come on SmackDown! in two weeks time.

After the proud new champ polished off hand-picked opponent Spike Dudley, bitter rival Eddie Guerrero appeared. He informed JBL that his contract guarantees a rematch — and this time, it’s Eddie who gets to select the match stipulation. So, when SmackDown! sets down in Providence, R.I., the glad-handing JBL will have to weather Latino Heat in a steel cage.

More than one powerhouse Superstar left SmackDown! scowling: Mordecai’s undefeated streak was stopped by undersized Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio.

In an important update, we learned that Paul Bearer sustained severe internal damage — including injuries to the lungs and trachea — when he was entombed in a Concrete Crypt by the Undertaker at The Great American Bash. The devious Paul Heyman gloated over the Bash outcome, telling the Fayetteville, N.C., crowd that he “compelled the Undertaker to face his only weakness.” Heyman clearly felt Bearer had been holding the Phenom back, and will do so no longer.

“Now the Undertaker has no conscience. Now the Undertaker has no restraints,” Heyman said Thursday night. But now that the Undertaker is unrestrained, Heyman better hope the Deadman doesn’t come for him.

SmackDown! also had implications for United States Champion John Cena. He had words with Kenzo Suzuki and watched Booker T earn the No. 1 contender slot when Booker emerged from a Triple Threat Match with Rob Van Dam and Rene Dupree. As a result, Cena will square off against the five-time WCW Champion next Thursday, with the U.S. title on the line.

Lastly, referee Charles Robinson almost didn’t make it out of Fayetteville intact. After botching the Bash match between Torrie Wilson and Sable, General Manager Kurt Angle ordered Robinson to ref Thursday’s rematch. The contest, in which Torrie triumphed with a DDT, went without incident. Still, Angle wasn’t satisfied, throwing Robinson into the ring to wrestle big man Luther Reigns. Luckily for Robinson, Charlie Haas had unfinished business with Reigns and stepped between the two when the battle had barely begun.

Match Results:
Booker T defeats Rob Van Dam and Rene Dupree (Triple Threat Match) to become the No. 1 contender.
Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio def. Mordecai (non-title match)
Torrie Wilson def. Sable
The match between Luther Reigns and Charles Robinson was stopped when Robinson was incapacitated and Charlie Haas intervened
JBL def. Spike Dudley

Sabu & Sonjay Dutt vs. Team Canada

This week’s pay per view got off to a blistering start as the “Original Playa from the Himalaya” Sonjay Dutt teamed up with the homicidal, suicidal, genocidal, Sabu to take on Bobby Roode and Petey Williams of Team Canada. As always, the duo was led to the ring by their leader, Scott D’Amore. Team Canada has been on roll as of late in TNA and wanted to extend their winning streak by shutting down Sabu and Dutt.

Although, Sabu and Sonjay Dutt don’t have the experience working together that Team Canada does, they did a pretty good job working as a team. D’Amore got his cheap shots in when he could and it looked like he was going to be the X factor again for Team Canada, but Sabu had other plans. Just as Bobby Roode was about to use the infamous hockey stick that D’Amore gave him, Sabu countered it with a steel chair, breaking the stick in half. Once this happened, Sabu dropped his leg with the steel chair on Bobby Roode’s face which led to the eventual pin fall.

After the match, Scott D’Amore was furious with both Petey Williams and Bobby Roode. The rest of Team Canada, Johnny Devine and Showtime Eric Young, came to the ring to calm down the frustrated D’Amore, thus preventing anything more from taking place.

Back in the locker room area, “The Franchise” Shane Douglas was standing by with the X Division Champion, AJ Styles. The news broke that Kid Kash was suspended for unknown reasons and would not be able to compete against Styles tonight for the belt. AJ told Douglas that it didn’t matter, and that he never backed down from a fight. He said he will throw up the net again and see what he can catch as far as an opponent goes.

Cameras then shifted back to the ring where Scott Hudson was standing by with Director of Authority, Vince Russo and referee Rudy Charles. Scott Hudson asked Russo who the NWA World Champion is. Vince Russo said that he decided to let the 2 participants in the match state their own case and invited both “The Truth” Ron Killings and Jeff Jarrett to the ring. The 3 Live Kru came out first and got the crowd all riled up, but just before Killings could speak his mind, out came “The King of the Mountain” Jeff Jarrett, followed by his Elite Guard consisting of Onyx, Collier, and Hernandez.

Jarrett had the truck roll the footage showing Russo and Rudy Charles stating that if anyone uses the guitar in the match, they would be disqualified and lose. Truth then had the truck show some footage for him in which we saw Jeff Jarrett continuously use the guitar as a weapon against people like Dusty Rhodes, Vince Russo, and Killings himself. The Truth then told Russo that the attack was premeditated and that Russo should do the right thing!

Russo seemed very confused, but announced that although it made him sick to his stomach, he must award the belt back to Jeff Jarrett. Russo then told Killings that he didn’t do the right thing last week when he hit Jarrett with the guitar. Just as Jarrett was mouthing off, Russo told him to shut up and informed the champ that he would be defending the title next week against all 3 members of 3 Live Kru, but that’s not all. Russo said he had to be fair and he included Jarrett’s Elite Guard in this gauntlet match up. However, this would make it 4 on 3, so Russo said he will have to even things up with a man that Jeff Jarrett is scared of. He then revealed the 8th competitor in next week’s gauntlet match for the NWA World Heavyweight Title. The World’s Most Dangerous Man, Ken Shamrock!!!! The first NWA Champion of the TNA era was back and he charged the ring as a fight ensued amongst all of the wrestlers except for Jeff Jarrett, who jumped over the railing to the outside.

“The Alpha Male” Monty Brown vs. D Lo Brown

Both of these athletes have publicly stated that they are both in search of the biggest prize in our sport, the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Problem is, there is only room for one top contender. This led to The Alpha Male put in a match up with D Lo Brown to find out just who would go on to become the number one contender for the title. Fans were wondering if D Lo Brown could put an end to Monty Brown’s winning streak here in TNA.

This match went back and forth with neither man able to capitalize. The longer the match went on, the more brutal the encounter got. What started as a wrestling match, ended in a fight with the referee calling a No Contest as both D Lo and Monty Brown fought each other into the crowd watching on at the Asylum. Security tried to separate the two, but had their hands full. We have certainly not seen the last of this rivalry in the making.

Hudson was standing by with Gilberti and Swinger. Although Swinger looked comfortable in his coconut bikini, Gilberti was hesitant to appear before the camera. Unannounced, David Young came in and went over to talk with Gilberti. Swinger told Hudson that if it’s coconuts that Kenney and Siaki want, it’s coconuts their going to get.

Pat Kenney & Sonny Siaki vs. The NYC (Double or nothing humiliation match)

Unfortunately for Gilberti and Swinger, they were forced to come to the ring dressed in those ridiculous outfits. Intent on not having to wear them anymore, the NYC was ready to put a beating on Kenney and Siaki to ensure victory. However, it was all Kenney and Siaki in the early going. Gilberti used his shoe as a weapon to turn the tide of the match back to the NYC’s favor.

Midway through the match, David Young came down to the ring with a chain around his fist and hit Pat Kenney over the head to allow Gilberti to get the rollup and the 3 count. Just as the NYC was celebrating not having to wear their outfits, another referee hit the ring to inform referee Andy Thomas that he missed Young interfering in the match up. Thomas then ordered the match to continue. Eventually, Irish Pat Kenney go the rollup on Gilberti for the pin and thus forcing the NYC to wear the outfits for 30 more days. Vito and Trinity then came out to ringside to have words with their fellow New Yorker’s.

Cameras again shifted backstage where Scott Hudson was standing by with Goldylocks and Abyss. She told Hudson that Watts still loves her and that once Abyss wins, she is going to get his contract and rip it up.

Erik Watts vs. Abyss w/ Goldylocks

With his wife sitting at ringside, it was now time for Erik Watts to try and win back the money that Goldylocks had taken from him. If he won the match, Goldylocks would have to give his savings back, but if Abyss won, Watt’s contract goes into her hands. For Abyss, it was a chance to punish another TNA victim, and for Watts, it was all about taking back what is rightfully his. Goldylocks got involved early and often. She slipped the briefcase in about midway through the match which Abyss used to hit Watt’s right over the head. However, Watt’s kicked out, knowing that his match could be his last.

Erik Watts then turned the tide of the match when he hit a choke slam on Abyss. It wasn’t enough to keep the big man down though. Although Erik Watts fought valiantly, he wasn’t able to beat the numbers game. With Goldylock’s constant interference, she was able to distract Watt’s too much and that led to Abyss giving him the Black hole Slam for the victory, thus giving Goldylocks the power over Erik’s contract. After the match was over, Abyss and Goldy continued to attack a helpless Watt’s until his wife jumped the guard rail and came in the ring, desperately fighting off her husband’s enemies.

Hudson was standing by with the NWA World Tag Team Champs. Wildcat Chris Harris and Cowboy James Storm expressed their feelings on the recent actions of the Naturals. Harris exclaimed that they were going to give the Naturals something tonight and they are not going to like it.

America’s Most Wanted vs. The Naturals

For week’s now, the Naturals have been trying to get the attention of TNA officials by attacking Chris Harris and James Storm every chance they get. They went as far as to steal their ring attire and draw on their faces with lipstick. It looked as if Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens wanted a shot at the Tag Team Champions. Well, be careful what you wish for, because in this case, they got it! AMW was out to settle the score with the 2 newcomers to the TNA tag team division.

AMW wasted no time and went right after Stevens and Douglas before the bell even sounded. Harris and Storm were fired up and out for revenge. They manhandled the two rookies in the beginning of their encounter. However, the Naturals proved that they were a worthy contender and soon mounted a comeback. It seemed as if AMW had the match put away on several occasions, but Douglas and Stevens would kick out. What happen next came as a shock to everyone in the building and all those who watched at home, the Naturals were able to get the pin in what could be considered a controversial decision. Nonetheless, Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens sent another message to TNA. That is, they are the real deal!

Back in the locker room area, Scott Hudson was standing by with “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes who wasn’t too happy about the decision Russo made earlier in the night, but he had other issues to worry about, such as Jeff Hardy. Rhodes said he personally will take the Jeff Hardy situation in to his pocket, claiming that Jeff Hardy has that rock star status in the world of professional wrestling.

Later on, Scott Hudson caught up with Vince Russo who would not comment on Kid Kash’s suspension, but he did let everyone know that AJ Styles would defend his belt against 5 worthy X Division wrestlers.

AJ Styles vs. Michael Shane vs. Kazarian vs. Primetime vs. Amazing Red vs. Chris Sabin

We all know that AJ Styles is a fighting champion, but the odds were stacked against the phenomenal one going into this match up with 4 former X Division Champions. With the exception of a very talented Primetime, all of Styles opponents have tasted the X gold before and wanted it back. This match was absolutely out of this world! In true X Division style, all 6 competitors put it all on the line and showed why the X Division has no limits! There was death defying, high flying, suicidal, technical, and total nonstop action in this match which words can’t describe. At the conclusion of the match, Styles again overcame the obstacles and got the Styles Clash on Red for the win to retain his title.

After the match was over, all hell broke loose. Team Canada charged the ring and a fight ensued. Just then AMW came through the curtains exchanging blows with the Naturals. Christopher Daniels joined the fray and he too got involved using the NWA flag pole to fight off people. D Lo Brown and Monty Brown were shown fighting their way back through the crowd and so were the 3 Live Kru and The Elite Guard. Bodies were everywhere in the Asylum. In the end, Jeff Jarrett came to the ring with his guitar and stood in the center of the ring untouched, until Ken Shamrock came out to confront him. Just as Shamrock hit the ring, the show went off the air!

Wrestling TV Results: Week of 6-30-14

All results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to list of TV listings reports).

WWE Main Event: 7-1-14

1 -- LUKE HARPER & ERICK ROWAN vs. R-TRUTH & XAVIER WOODS

Harper smashed Truth with an early kick to the face, then tagged in Rowan to continue assaulting Truth while X could only watch. Xavier finally got a tag and strung together some offense on Rowan, but only scored a two count on a swinging DDT. But, Rowan cut off Xavier and all four men found themselves in the ring. Harper smashed Truth again, then Rowan found himself alone in the ring with Xavier to deliver a power bodyslam for the pin and the win. "Ring that bell," the ref declared before being scared out of the ring by the Wyatts.

WINNERS: Wyatts at 2:34. Good, clean squash to re-establish the Wyatts following their Tag Title match loss at MITB on Sunday.

2 -- NIKKI BELLA vs. CAMERON & NAOMI -- handicap match

The announcers noted this is a re-match from Raw, which Naomi won for her team, upsetting Cameron. Before the bell sounded, Stephanie McMahon appeared on the video screen and said it's too bad Brie bailed on Nikki, so in the spirit of fairness, she has assigned her a new tag team partner. Out came crazy Alicia Fox, which Nikki wasn't so sure about.

2b -- NIKKI BELLA & ALICIA FOX vs. CAMERON & NAOMI

The Funkadacytls isolated Nikki early on as A. Fox tried to contain herself on the ring apron. But, just like last night on Raw, Nikki took the loss. This time, Cameron got the win, which upset Fox for not getting in the match and Naomi for being shown up by Cameron.

WINNERS: Cameron & Naomi at 1:38.

3 -- DOLPH ZIGGLER & ROB VAN DAM & BIG E. vs. RYBACK & CURTIS AXEL & CESARO (w/Paul Heyman) -- six-man tag match

The announcers noted Ryback and Axel are former Paul Heyman Guys, creating an interesting scenario for Heyman managing clients past and present. Remember Heyman's infatuation with Ryback months and months ago? In the ring, Ziggler targeted Cesaro's injured eye, removing the eyepatch before Cesaro bailed to the heel corner to tag in Axel. The faces took control heading to break.

Back from break, the heels were controlling the action working on RVD. Ziggler tried to rally RVD and the crowd, then Axel tried to pick a fight with Axel, who ignored him. Ryback re-entered and went to the top turnbuckle, but he took too long and airballed a flying splash. RVD then rolled toward the face corner to tag in Ziggler.

Ziggler came in hot on Cesaro, rocking him with corner punches and a neckbreaker. Ziggler knocked Axel off the ring apron, then tried a Fameasser on Cesaro, but Cesaro blocked, only to re-adjust and nail a Fameasser for a two count. And there was Heyman selling disbelief by not blinking while on-camera.

Chaos with bodies everywhere. Cesaro then pushed RVD off the top rope into a sea of bodies on the floor. But, Ziggler snuck up behind Cesaro and dropped him with the Zig-Zag for the pin and the win. Cut to Heyman, who had the Million Yard Stare selling complete disbelief over the result. Ziggler then led RVD and Big E. in a curtain call before WWE replayed the finish. One more curtain call led by Ziggler as the heels retreated up the entrance ramp to the back. Spotlight on Ziggler as the show wrapped up.

WINNERS: Team Ziggler at 11:01. Fine match putting the spotlight on Ziggler in the John Cena role leading a group of babyfaces in a six-man tag. Heyman's facial expressions added tremendously, as usual.

TNA Impact Wrestling: 7-3-14

1 -- TNA tag champs THE WOLVES (EDDIE EDWARDS & DAVEY RICHARDS) vs. THE MENAGERIE (KNUX & THE FREAK) vs. BRO-MANS (JESSIE & D.J. ZEMA.) -- TNA Tag Title match

The Menagerie cleared Bro-Mans from the ring in the opening second as Menagerie's group were shown wearing Fourth of July-inspired get-ups. Are they heels or faces? A flag entered the camera shot as men in a variety of colors fought amongst themselves. A visual overload, but at least Menagerie's music wasn't playing on a loop. The match slowed down with Bro-Mans isolating Eddie until Davey broke up a pin.

Davey got the hot tag and KO'ed Jessie, then suplexed D.J. Zema out of the ring. Knux tried to get at Davey, but Davey knocked him to the floor. Wolves then double-teamed Jessie and Davey pinned him for the win.

WINNERS: The Wolves at 4:12 to retain the TNA Tag Titles.

2 -- BOBBY ROODE vs. KENNY KING

The two men continued to have a sanctioned competition in their casual clothes as Roode sold shoulder pain. A chair was in the middle of the ring and Roode managed to bodyslam King onto the chair and the referee counted to three on a pin. King left the ring saying this isn't over as Roode held up the chair in victory.

WINNER: Roode at 1:45 of bell-to-bell. Messy presentation that made it look like anyone can be a wrestler. If wrestling is ever going to see a resurgence in the U.S., it will start with pro wrestlers being presented as superior, super-athletes (excuse the Rusev reference) who fans are privileged to see compete inside a protected wrestling ring, not a bunch of guys who look like fans out of the crowd having a phony-looking brawl attempting to "look real."

3 -- BULLY RAY vs. ETHAN CARTER III -- Tables match

Bully roughed up and dominated ECIII early on, with Carter getting in zero offense. Bully then went under the ring to retrieve a table, but Carter cut him off and went on the offensive. Carter had Bully in a corner mount for ten punches, but Bully blocked and set up for a powerbomb, but Rockstar Spud hit the ring in his Jonny Fairplay Outfit of the Week and low-blowed Ray.

Carter and Spud beat up Ray, then "Gore, Gore" suddenly sounded over the p.a. system. A returning Rhino charged the ring and cornered Spud as if he were to going to save Bully, but then he turned and gored Ray. Rhino's big initial impression with giant bug-eyes and an excited look on his face as he raised his arms in the air. Then, Bully went through a table to take another loss to ECIII. Spud, Carter, and Rhino stood tall in the ring.

WINNER: ECIII at 6:58.

4 -- KO champion ANGELINA LOVE (w/Velvet Sky) vs. GAIL KIM -- Knockouts Title match

Once the bell sounded, Angelina tried to work on Brian, but Gail blasted Angelina to put a stop to her ways. The match quickly moved to the floor, where Velvet provided a distraction to give Angelina the advantage. Hebner eventually had enough of Velvet and kicked her out from ringside.

The match continued with Angelina and Gail exchanging pin attempts, then Angelina blocked Eat Defeat, but Gail came back with a second attempt and connected flush. Angelina tipped over, then Gail pinned her for the win.

WINNER: Gail at 6:02 to capture the KO Title. Solid, competitive match that also served to give the heels their comeuppance after months of build-up.

5 -- TNA World Hvt. champion BOBBY LASHLEY vs. ERIC YOUNG -- TNA World Title match

Roode and MVP interfered from the outside in the opening minute, so ref Earl Hebner booted both men from ringside. MVP angrily hobbled away from ringside on crutches before the match resumed with Lashley dominating EY. Young rolled to the outside selling an ankle injury three minutes in, giving Lashley an opening to punish Young even more.

Back in the ring, Lashley slapped on a mat submission trying to force Young to tap out, but Young kept on fighting. Young broke free, then tried to take it up top, but Lashley cut him off. They battled on the top turnbuckle, EY won the exchange, and he wanted a piledriver, but the ankle was too hurt. Lashley slipped out, then dropped Young with a dominator. He followed with a spear/tackle for the pin and the win.

Post-match, Lashley stood tall before TNA replayed EY's "out" injuring his ankle mid-way through the match. Taz asked who can compete against The Destroyer, the World champ Lashley? Tenay called him one-of-a-kind and still TNA champion as Impact signed off.

WINNER: Lashley at 6:55 to retain the TNA Title. TNA is trying to build up Lashley as a Brock Lesnar equivalent, but he's got to show more personality or have an actual managerial mouthpiece like Paul Heyman to build him up to make a difference for TNA.

WWE Superstars: 7-3-14

1 - BIG E. vs. TITUS O'NEIL

O'Neil with the advantage on the lockup and an insulting slap to the chest, prompting Big E. to take him down and beat him silly. O'Neil cuts off Big E.'s offense and starts to wear him down. O'Neil misses a leg drop and Big E. fires up. Warrior Splash and the straps are down, but that lets O'Neil recover and hit a big boot. Big E. dodges in the corner and catches O'Neil with the Big Ending off the rebound.

WINNER: Big E. in 3:58. Eh.

2 - R-TRUTH (w/Xavier Woods) vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO

R-Truth with an early shoulder block, and then a hip toss to set up a pair of leg drops. A kick lets Del Rio take over.

Del Rio with sustained control. Truth eventually taps to the Cross Arm-breaker.

WINNER: Alberto Del Rio in 7:20. Not terribly inspired. It's Superstars.

Wrestling TV Results: Week of 6-30-14 part 2

WWE NXT: 7-3-14

1 - COLIN CASSADY (w/Enzo Amore) vs. SYLVESTER LEFORT (w/Marcus Lois)

William Regal makes some cracks on France, and Lefort manages to get a smidge of offense in before Cassady hits the East River Crossing and the Empire Elbow for the win.

WINNER: Colin Cassady in 0:49. I think if a Lefort match manages to go more than three minutes it will be a record.

2 - BAYLEY & BECKY LYNCH vs. THE BFFS (CHARLOTTE & SASHA BANKS) - Tag Team match

Bayley and Banks start things off. Bayley controls Banks and takes in Lynch. Lynch shows a fast-pace style, with lots of arm drags. Bayley and Lynch work over Charlotte in their corner. Double suplex draws Banks into the ring, and she gets sent ringside.

Bayley is getting a beating from the BFFs in their corner and Lynch is flipping out over their tactics. Figure Four headlock on Bayley. They crowd rallies Bayley. Extended beat down on Bayley. Bayley manages to break free and Lynch nails Banks with uppercuts and clotheslines and leg drops. Running leg drop into a cover draws Charlotte in to break up a pin, Bayley is in but Charlotte dumps her. Charlotte tags in and dropkicks Lynch's knee. Bow Down to the Queen ends it.

WINNERS: The BFFs in 9:16. What is the plan with Lynch? she isn't getting enough ring time to show much of her move set or personality, and she just took a loss after only a few moments in the ring off a hot tag. This isn't the way to get her over.

3 - STEVE CUTLER vs. C.J. PARKER

Parker with early offense gets Cutler into the corner. Parker lectures the audience as he beats up Cutler. Heel kick ends it.

WINNER: C.J. Parker in 1:47. Basic match to re-establish Parker in the ring. Post-match, Parker kicks Cutler out of the ring and gets a mic. He reminds us that Xavier Woods is close to getting a PhD, but says that since he left NXT he has been a buffoon. He wouldn't squander opportunities like Woods has.

4 - SAMI ZAYN vs. JUSTIN GABRIEL (w/Tyson Kidd)

They trade control early on. "Nattie's husband" chant directed at Kidd. Gabriel and Zayn reset, then go back to technical wrestling. Another reset and more technical wrestling. An arm drag from Gabriel starts to shift the tempo of the pace. Arm drags from Zayn, then mat work. Kidd gives Gabriel some advice after a rope break. Gabriel pops Zayn with a clothesline, and he looks to Kidd with satisfaction. Gabriel with a suddenly heelish attack.

They are trading blows out of the break. Jumping kick gets two for Gabriel. Side suplex finally breaks Zayn free but he gets knocked right back down. Zayn finally gets some traction. Blue Thunderbomb gets a nearfall for Zayn. Jaw breaker gets Gabriel some space, but Zayn responds with an exploder suplex to send Gabriel into the turnbuckles for a nearfall.

Gabriel ducks the Hulluva Kick and responds with a thrust kick for a nearfall. Shoulder breaker gets a nearfall for Gabriel. Another nearfall for Gabriel after a springboard moonsault. Gabriel looks furious. Gabriel goes up top, but Zayn knocks him to the turnbuckle. They trade blows on the turnbuckle. Zayn suddenly trips up Gabriel and locks in a Koji Clutch for a submission victory.

WINNER: Sami Zayn in 13:50. Lots of meat for fans of technical wrestling here, but a bit of a letdown if you really wanted to see a fast-paced match between these two.

Post-match, Kidd ambushes Zayn as Gabriel recovers. Gabriel doesn't seem thrilled, but Kidd holds Zayn and encourages Gabriel to join in, which he eventually does. Adrian Neville makes the save and Kidd and Gabriel leave the ring with no physical contact.

WWE Smackdown: 7-4-14

1 – SHEAMUS vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO – UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Cole talked about the rivalry between these two men over the past few years. Sheamus landed a knee-drop to the face of Del Rio. Del Rio missed a stomp, but continued putting the boots to Sheamus. At ringside, Del Rio whipped Sheamus into the steel steps. Back-stabber on the apron by Del Rio, who had Sheamus in a bad way heading into break 2:55 into the match.

Back at 6:50 of the match with Sheamus hitting Del Rio with a cross-body, sending both men over the top rope and crashing to the floor. Sheamus came up shaking out his left arm. After they exchanged right hands in the middle of the ring, Sheamus hit the Irish Curse back-breaker. Del Rio countered Sheamus into a nice DDT for two. Del Rio made his way to the top rope too slowly, allowing Sheamus to halt his momentum. In fact, with Del Rio seated on the top rope, Sheamus gave him his clubbing forearms across the chest. Top-rope shoulder tackle followed. Sheamus missed a Brogue Kick and Del Rio locked in the cross arm-breaker. Sheamus rolled Del Rio on his back, however, and hooked in the Cloverleaf. Del Rio reached the rope to break. Sheamus tried White Noise, but again, Del Rio countered into his submission move. Sheamus lifted Del Rio off the mat and slammed him into the corner. Sheamus missed a shoulder-first corner charge. Moonsault was rolled through by Del Rio, but he walked right into a Brogue Kick.

WINNER: Sheamus, at 12:12. Slightly more entertaining than their tedious World Title matches some years ago. Del Rio was given a lot late in the match.

2 – BO DALLAS vs. DIEGO

Dallas seemed amused by El Torito and Diego’s pre-match routine, which was just finishing up out of break. Bo tried his own “Ole!” but the fans weren’t digging it, and Diego met him with a dropkick. JBL claimed Fernando’s injury was the result of a gore from Torito’s uncle. After some back-and-forth, Dallas hit the Bo-Dog for the win.

WINENR: Dallas, at 1:33. Another good enhancement win for Bo Dallas.

After the match, Dallas talked to Torito. He said Torito is a bovine and said if he wants to grow taller, all he has to do is Bolieve. Dallas turned around and Torito gored him in the butt. Dallas went over and shook his finger at Torito, lecturing him that he shouldn’t do that. Torito danced in response. So Bo lifted Torito over his head and slammed him. A replay aired of the slam.

3 – EVA MARIE vs. A.J. LEE

No entrance for Eva. Paige was sitting at ringside, but refused to join the commentators, indicating she wanted to focus on the action. They showed how Paige ended up losing the title on Raw. Paige didn’t seem to be playing much of a heel at ringside. Eva pie-faced A.J. a couple times, then ran to the ropes when A.J. came after her. Evan tossed A.J. to ringside, where the Divas Champion exchanged glances with Paige. A.J. jumped on Eva’s back for a sleeper. Eva turned it into a side slam, but before she could execute the move, A.J. hooked in the Black Widow for the tap-out win.

WINNER: A.J., via submission, at 1:20. Even in that short of a match, Eva got too much offense.

Paige congratulated A.J. after the match, shook her hand and clapped for her.

4 – RANDY ORTON vs. DEAN AMBROSE

Ambrose, with his left shoulder taped, did enough to Orton to get the Viper to take a walk at ringside early on. Orton slammed Ambrose early on as Cole questioned Rollins’ scruples. Ambrose tied Orton up on the mat. Orton kicked Ambrose in the bad shoulder, sending him outside the ring. The show cut to break 3:24 into the match.

Back at 6:54 of the match. Ambrose came off the top and Orton moved out of the way of the dropkick. Did Cole really ask how we can take Rollins at his word, that he built the Shield, when Cole himself called Rollins “the architect” of The Shield for MONTHS? Ambrose, in desperation, sent Orton shoulder-first into the ring post. Ambrose peppered Orton with right hands. Off the second rope, Ambrose connected with a back elbow. Orton was then clotheslined over the top rope. Suicide dive followed. Ambrose sent Orton into the barricade. Orton was thrown into the ring, then Ambrose ran over to Rollins, diving over the announce table and onto his foe. He returned to the match and rolled up Orton for two. Ambrose tried his finish, but Orton hit him with a powerslam. Slight “RKO” chant from the crowd. Ambrose back-dropped Orton over the top and in front of the announce table. Ambrose tried another dive, but Rollins hit him in the shoulder with the briefcase for the disqualification.

WINNER: Ambrose, via DQ, at 12:40.

After the match, Orton RKO’d Ambrose. They tore the tape off Ambrose’s shoulder, and Rollins went to the top. Roman Reigns ran out and pushed Rollins off the top. Superman punch to Orton. Rollins pulled Orton out of the ring before Reigns could deliver a spear. The copyright logo was cued up as Reigns checked on Ambrose in the ring.
