MVS by Genre with Video Reviews

Ive put this into simple genres so folks can see which games are likely to interest them at a glance via youtube. The videos are mostly by snkneogeoman (Who's reviews are excellent), CGRundertow (ClassicGameRoom), ArthurDWolfe & lukemorse1. I do not always agree with all reviews listed. In the rare cases where an actual MVS video cannot be found an AVS or NEO GEO CD video footage will be added instead, at-least they give a flavour of the game. (Some genre's are better supported with reviews than others)

I will also be adding the date the game was released & the developer/s in order to differentiate it form the excellent thread started by HeavyMachineGun and posted bellow by xsq. Thanks for pointing that one again, its a great thread in itself, & addition to this one.

Very useful, though I would separate into some more categories. I wouldn't place Metal Slug and Ganryu in space shooters.

Metal slugs are run n gun shooters, not space shooters. Maybe separate them into SHMUP and run n gun it would help out.

Also, puzzle genre is needed. Its quite a significant genre there it needs its own space

I can't remember the thread, but I think someone had already done a break out similar to this. A few genres that are fairly present in SNK would be Platformerers, Sports, and Puzzles.

The entire Metal Slug series, Top Hunter, Blues Journey, and Magician Lord would all fit into Platformer.

Its lower down the Beatemup list next to SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos near the bottom of that genre labeled as Samurai Showdown V
But it should be next to the other SS games, il move it.. As should some others be next to their counterparts. If I had office I could put the bloody thing in each genre into alphabetical order, which would solve that problem, but I cant be arsed to go through the entire thing and put it all into capitals & alphabetical order by hand lol. (Note: have put Samurai Showdown V next to the others now and some of the others into their groups)

Neither. If you want to get really lame, beat 'em up is "Belt Scroll Action". There is no belt in The Super Spy.
