Being compared to EG isn't a complement...EG actually has mental illness so feel for the guy sometimes...You on the other hand is just a chick w/ a dick in a videogame forum.

If that's true (and I have no reason to doubt what you're saying), it explains a LOT about my interactions with him over the years and his bizarre and sudden aggressive opinions and angry retorts that seemed to come from out of nowhere.

Anyway, movies.

I watched a couple of good movies on TCM recently.

"Wait Until its Dark": a movie about a blind woman (Audrey Hepburn) who is being conned by a group of men to get one of her possessions. I think Hepburn is good; not sure that she nails all of the mannerisms of a blind person (though not sure what all of those would be myself), but she is really good in the more dramatic moments. Also, this is the first Audrey Hepburn movie I have watched and wow she is a beautiful woman. Alan Arkin is also good in this; very dark character.

"The Window": a movie about a kid who thinks his neighbours are murderers, but no one beleives him. I feel like this is the kind of movie that could be referenced in a tree house of horrors episode. The child actor in this movie is pretty good and the premise is interesting. I think the appeal of these older movies in part is looking at things that are so much different now and hearing people talk different than we do now.

Last halloween I was watching "eye of the Devil" on TCM but fell asleep or something. Hopefully they show it again because it was interesting and I would like to finish it.

Tron Legacy- Shit but looks great in 4k in the background while I'm painting and drawing.

Charade- Possibly my favorite Hepburn movie and that's saying a lot.

The Cooler- WH Macy plays The Cooler, a guy with such shit luck that his job is working in an old school Casino for Alec Baldwin ruining other gamblers winning streaks. Strong performances and a surprising amount of nudity involving Macy and Maria Bello. Recommended.

Oh yeah, The Cooler was great, I really enjoyed that. And Mario Bello! The "kicking" scene is intense.

SNIP

That's Hitchcock's Rear Window, mate.

I know but from what he wrote it sounded very similar to RW.

I looked into it, it actually predates Rear Window, so there you go. Haven’t seen RW in years, great film. Might revisit that one soon.

Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries.

I'm going to make my 4th or 5th attempt to watch Vanilla Sky tonight. I'm pretty sure I don't like this movie but something about it beckons me.

What's the original? I know there are two versions, but I don't know why. Don't spoil anything for me. The reason this is my xth attempt is because I never pay attention to the film or I fall asleep less than halfway through or something so I have no clue what the story is really

It was a Spanish movie called Abre Los Ojos (open your eyes) and it has the same gal in it. Penelope Cruz, I think?

INTERESTING! On a related note, I keep meaning to watch Purple Noon (the original version of The Talented Mr. Ripley) to see which one I like better

I had to watch that with no subtitles in my college Spanish class. I was the only guy in the class. All the girls turned and stared at me as she dropped 'em. I didn't know what to do.

I just started getting into horror movies from Thailand, I'm enjoying them immensity for what they are - B-movie quality jump scares that pile on the folky supernatural element very heavily. I've seen Phobia and Thongsook 13 so far, going to watch Shutter tonight.
