I remember paying around $80 for Final Fantasy III back in 1994. Worth every single penny and then some.

Bought Killer Instinct for Super Nintendo for $79.99 plus tax. It retailed for 59.99 but was sold out the first week it came out. I reaaaallllly wanted the game finally bought from a mom&pop videogame shop that sells the game with 20 bucks markup!

Shit, I would have to say Boader Down, because it came and only came with my SEGA Naomi 2 board and GD Rom. $500.00.

I bought that on release. It was Phantasy Star IV. At the time it was the biggest Genesis cart in terms of Meg count.

Ahh that's right. Back then I couldn't justify buying it at that price so I settled for a few rental sessions instead.

In the same year I bought JPN Metal Slug X AES for $195 at neighboring store Penguin Village (if I remember the name correctly). Up until 2000 the most I've ever spent were Ultimate 11and Twinkle Star Sprites AES for $400 and $380 respectively.

System: Neo Geo CD with 2 controllers and Top Hunter from Japan Video Games for $350 + shipping in 1997, then $350 even for Neo Geo AES with two original sticks all mint condition from Dion NGF in 1999, lol.

Game: King of Fighters 99 US AES for $280 + shipping or so from NCSX.com

Funny how a lot of you paid for Final Fantasy 6 (3 US) SNES $80 + tax, which went the same for me. I bought it at Walmart spring of 1995 in MS. My second expensive SNES price was Super Metroid for $75 + tax summer of 1994 also from Walmart.

Then again, I paid $80 + shipping for a lot of PS1 imports though. Games like Front Mission 2, Arc the Lad 2, Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight, etc... Then I discovered NCSX.com and only had to pay $65 for most PS1 imports. Seriously, how in the hell did they sell them for that much while Game Cave, Game Express etc.. were going for $80 all of the time?

I discovered ncsx in 1999. It was like a revelation for cheap jp saturn stuff conveniently in sync with my first job. My Pay checks never stood a chance
