NG Dev Team goes from making a sucky game to making what looks like a really good MS clone.
Personally, I am not a huge fan of the direction it has taken, with the chicks, the masks, and the sci-fi additions. Nonetheless... this looks like a much better game than it was before, and I am glad I pre-ordered a MVS kit. I haven't been let down yet by their games, and this one seems to be the best one yet.
I think a big issue for me still, believe it or not, is the protagonist. Compared to Gordian Gaiden or even Marco and Tarma he just feels bland and uninteresting..
As crazy as this sounds I actually think it would make a huge difference if they took the time to redesign the player characters to make them more interesting and more unique. Look at Demon Front for example, those characters are obvious slug clones, but they still feel like unique characters.
Maybe make the characters MORE over the top? You could just do something stupid like give the main character a big cliche eye scar and a cybernetic arm (to go with the new robo-nazi enemies) and I'd be pretty happy! It would at least make the game pop more at a glance. It doesn't even matter really, give player 2 a big mustache, or slap a cigar in his mouth, give him an eyepatch, I don't care, just do something fun with the main characters. I'm being purposely ridiculous of course, you don't have to go that far, but they just need a little more flavor.
Of course the sensible argument is that the gameplay is all that really matters, and NGDEV has done a lot of great work here, and that's TRUE, but your character is the star of the game, and if he's boring then it can make the game feel pretty boring.
I agree the music needs changed asap. They need to have the music fit the theme or the game will take a serious hit. That was the great thing about the slug games, the music made u enjoy the rest of the game so much more.
Holy text. Donald could use that to secure the borders.
asshole detected. If I had the dough I'd buy it just to flip for double in a year in a half. At least. This game will be great and very popular.

He was so young, so foolish.

Already banned? Haha
yep, i guess this forum gets triggered by the laws of supply & demand.
The music is likely here to stay, they are pretty clearly proud over how it's coming along. Shame the reaction here is mixed. For my part, while I would've loved to see them partner with some of the insane talent that still exists today for synth, overall I'm too delighted to see something of this caliber coming along so nicely.
Not from supply and demand, for the cynical riding of these rising prices. It doesn't warm any hearts to think that some folks might miss out on trying this game over someone that thinks like you grabbing that copy instead.

yes, it is true NGDev should increase production - which they seem to have done drastically with KB compared to the last releases. However they can't be blamed for not taking greater risks - if they overproduce, they might end up stuck with a lot of unsold games and would have to reduce the prices to get rid of them (meaning they would loose money if they didn't calculate for this - if they did a lot of the early adopters would pay for the later price reductions. Both unfavorable scenarios).Blame falls on the producers, produce more product then. Supply...and...demand.
The only nitpicking I have is that some of the enemy bullets have strange flight characteristics (too much diagonal).

This is an independent issue from the one I (and it seems a lot of other members) have with your attitude. You outright said you want to make a profit by buying and reselling at a higher price (which is called "flipping" around here). A lot of scumbags do this, they are in this for the money, not the games and it is (together with the hipster collectard idiots buying) one core reason for rapidly (and artificially) rising prices. Instead you could be enjoying the game and when you're done with it (or want to let it go for other reasons) sell it to a buddy for a fair price (what you paid or less) - like a lot of hobbyists do.
You can take your shit to ebay, you certainly don't understand what this community (a peninsula of sanity) is about. And before we derail this thread further: I'm not going to explain this to you in greater detail. If you don't get it, read around the forums, this has been discussed a lot of times.
You don't understand capitalism nearly as well as profess if you really believe that NGDev is sitting on big money they could be making just by reprinting their earlier releases, and that their single reason to not benefit from that is to appease collectors or inflate prices. Also, that supply and demand or capitalism are amoral by nature is a poor defense to why you are being perceived that way.
Considering what their AES releases currently go for, I don't see any other way to look at it.
Every time NGDEV releases a game we start the tired old debate on the price. Every single fucking time we go through this shit, it gets boring after a while. Its simple the price is what it is, if you don't like the price don't buy it.
