It was touch and go, depending on what characters were used. I might be able to beat one guy with a certain team, but not another. We all generally had a good time. They have some incredible players over there.
I have improved my game dramatically since then, though. Next trip we take my sister, and watch HER kick their asses.

There's really no need to provide ROMS to a website nowadays when people sell the CD's and you can get ahold of them on newsgroups.

There are good emulation people just like there's good Napster people. Because of Napster I bought all of RATM's CDs and a bunch of other bands.

You should also try CMJ newmusic magazine Bobak. Great source for new music and 12 issues are $29 a year. Although they also include stuff I do not like but you take the good with the bad

This Neo Geo hobby has been an emotional roller coaster for me since 1990.This may read crazy to some but I'm down for whatever. Any and all interest preserves this hobby for a very long time,even enough interest for the AES 2 to become a reality & third party games.Any exposure is good exposure and it's all about preservation at this point IMO.

true, emulation will never be as good as the real thing. but there are some people who never really care for kof until they tried it on the emulator. maybe its just me, but thats how i started. i loved kof, and eventually, i got obsessed with kyo ;p.
i kept playin on the emulators until i had enough to buy what i wanted. i own a few kofs (no neogeo though yet ;p but will soon), and kof merchandise. so emulation isnt exactly the worst thing. dog also has a point there, about the netplay. living at an area where no one wants to play kof does make things , hmm, boring. netplay kinda sucks but its fun to see how other kof ppl on from these message boards fight like. it be better if neogeo had netsupport, *drools* that would be a dream

My dream one day is to own a real neo-geo. I've always wanted one and still do.But as of now and before theres is no way I can afford it. Say what you want about that.I call myself a Hardcore fan because I LOVE SNK and there games period.And yes I play Emus but you see I intend to buy in the future.In my county I can't name anyone who knows what a Neo-Geo even is. I say it to my friends and they have no idea what im talking about.This is the only place to come and see and hear about the Neo-geo that I like.But I get the feeling like im not welcome hear. Because I play neo on emus. Im a really nice guy and won't flame and can ignore others that do, except when there telling me in not a hard core fan.My brother plays them and likes afew games but he doesn't LOVE them like me. I can't get enough of them. Im 19 years old and and im in high school,got a small part time job and a truck payment.My check is gone there , no money left. Now because of this does this make me not a worthy fan? I think the guys that can afford this stuff at the moment are great and one day hope I can do the same

This is the ONLY neo BBS out there were almost all the hardcore neo fans (People that collect neo stuff) all go to and post.

I don’t see the problem with members who play the neo, even if only through the arcades or emulation. For one, you have to look at the long term. If most of the ON members are college students with no major income, chances are they will grow older, perhaps even graduate college. I’m willing to wager that their incomes will increase in the not so distant future. Down the road they will probably pick up one of SNK’s systems first chance they get. It would be safe to say that they would eventually buy games for their neo system. When you are open minded, you see the possibilities.
If you don’t own a neo, you don’t have to tell anyone. You’re not obligated to have a neo collection to be a member of the neo-geo forums. So far, most everyone appears to have the required qualifications. Being a fan of the neo and its games.
On the other end of the spectrum, no one is obligated to play the neo and it’s games! I’m sure we have many members here who spend far more time talking about the neo than playing it. It’s just taboo, we don’t admit it because we fear the flames. Point is, this is a fan site dedicated to the neo-geo.
