GTA is very choppy and hard to control. I cant beleive that some members thought this tripe would move more systems. I also made this post from a PSP.

No shit.

GTA is probably the most overrated game bar Halo.

I didn't expect the PSP version to be any better.

When GTA became something else than a guy wandering in the streets stealing expensive cars to drive them like a fucktard all over the city, it was doomed.

Meh, how many games are actually out for the psp that are actually good or not a port? All I have is Lumines, Death Jr, Darkstalkers, Burnout Legends, Ridge Racer, and GTA.

Slim pickings on the psp

Would it run better at 333mhz, or is already running at that?

Supposedly the battery life for the game is really bad. So running it at 333 would kill it even more.

I was going to edit my previous post, but since I typed thi long ass sentence out and already clicked the reply button it would almost seem like a waste if I were to click the back button, its like I typed this paragraph for nothing and I hate when I type something and the computer freezes up or I accidently hit a button and my whole post is deleted, you know?

I feel bad for people that bought this game @ $49.99 when GTA III is sitting in used bins for $7

I got a good look at it. It seems fine to me. It's quite comparable to the PS2 version, so if you're coming from the PC or Xbox versions of the previous games, you'll be a little disappointed in the graphics. You do have to remember that the PS2 version's performance never reached the framerates of the more powerful bretheren, so if that's the only version you saw, you'll actually see it works just as well. In some ways, it betters the original GTA3 by having the light effects, car gloss, and colored lighting that never was introduced to the series, until the PS2 got Vice City. Controls are decent considering the PSP, in the first place. You're just not going to get very good controls on this console, period, unless you stick to old school stuff that can rely on face buttons and the D-pad alone. It's workable, though, and with a little adjustment, surprisingly not very far off from the original control method. That is being that we are missing a few buttons, and an analogue stick, that the big consoles have and use. Just try not to compare it to the Xbox version, where they did a bang up job on the conversion, with improved framerates, graphics, and one of the best vehicle camera controls the series ever had(which didn't come across as well when they made San Andreas).

The color bleed is also on purpose. This mimiks the PS2 version which had the trails. Only on the other ports did you have the option to turn it off and display crisp and clear graphics. This was done to hide imperfections on the PS2 version, and thus this one too.

I think the electricity to comment on this game via the internet is wasted.

I for one have no interest in this game, but the Best Buy in NoHo was completely sold out of it by 2pm on the day of release:( I just could never get into GTA. Apparently I am in the minority.

Truthfuly. I never exspected you to give a glowing review. I knew you were going to say its shit regardless how the game is.

I personaly am loving the game (a blast to play on multiplayer but of course i think it will get dull after a good month).

So to each his own.

--edit--
Oh I also got it for $50 Canadian which is roughly $41 USD. So I got it cheaper then others.

Funny enough, overall, I think Vice City is still my overall favorite, of the series. However, that's mainly because the 80s theme rocked everything. Just cruisin in that was like a "best of the 80s" experience, and that completely agreed with me. I didn't hate the rest considering I always found something fun to do, in them; but Vice City had too many trips to happy nostalgia in it, that it's hard to disagree with. The perfect game to put you in the place where Michael Jackson was awesome, everybody had Pacman fever, the 80s bands were "IN", and without the constant vocalized threat that the US and Russia had people just ready to push the button, starting a nuclear war.

im gonna skip it. I loved top-down gta, but the 3d gta does nothing for me. I bought GTA3 for PC and had to take it back the next day to exchange it for Jedi Outcast (glad i did btw).

I thought the 2D GTAs were pretty crap, myself.

It seems to be a bit of a fad to hate the 3D GTAs just because they are popular, and its's bullshit. They are flawed, maybe SA more than the rest, but they are decent enough games. GTA3 was pretty fresh, had a nice open environment and a good driving model. VC gave it a period look and feel that many people enjoyed. SA complicated things up maybe too much.

This doesn't necessarily mean LCS is any good. I haven't seen it.

Explain to me, exactly, how halo is "overrated".

I haven't played it actually.

:chimp:

I played Vice City though and I stand by my comment of GTA being overrated. I was completely underwhelmed once I finished the game, it's definitely not a 9.0 thing. Great 80's atmosphere and driving around the city is fun, but it gets old once the novelty of it wears off. Open-ended gameplay has existed long before GTA3 (Ultima anyone?) and it's hard to ignore the fact that people wouldn't be singing praises for this game if it weren't for it's mature content. The gameplay in the game is just terrible, though the driving aspect is done pretty well.

I've heard from like-minded people that Halo isn't all it's cracked up to be, but I can't really say from myself because I've never touched the game.

People who think Halo is overrated just don't get it. There is little you can do for them...

Halo is not overrated, its not like you hear everybody talking about it, other than maybe some xbox forum. (which is gay to begin with) That was only when it was coming out, now its just another really good game that had its hay-day on debut.
Its still one of the best "live" games out there for team play.

I had a feeling that GTA on a PSP would be ruff to control. I don't have a PSP but the idea of playing that type of game on a small screen is less than fun sounding. The TV commercials make it look like a chore to play... but its cool to see the attempt.... If I was a kid I probably would like it fine.... I wasn't as picky back then.

I think GTA got bad when the areas got so big that I was pretty much playing the little map in the corner going from dot to dot. After playing GTA 3 for a few weeks I knew the names of various places and how to get around the city. In Vice City I played the whole game looking at the damn map. I didn't even try San Andreas.

I stopped playing GTA 3 b/c the mini-quests were getting on my nerves. Collecting porno out of a van, in persuit was not only impossible for me, but rather silly.

I only like Vice City because of the 80's setting. Spand-EX... its just too funny.
