If anyone else has the same problem I had with a three thin lines (one red, blue, green each) at the top of the screen, the adjustment you need in the service menu is V-BLANKING and you can move them off screen.

Thanks for this tip, btw awesome pick up

Craig's for 100$, which initially I felt was high. After the realization it did more then 15khz, and personally removing the factory wrapping myself... I feel I payed a good price.

I'd say its a steal considering its BNIB - congrats!

What type of cable/input are you using?
The image looks perfect, but the H-cent seems crazy!

Does this BVM have pots or is it all done via OSD?

Maybe you need a sync cleaner or a sync booster.

A few scart cables for the genesis that are sold on ebay have a THS7314 inside the scart plug amping the sync.

Some shots of the BVM-20F1's posterior for those that are into that sort of thing,

The serial cable you see above goes to the separate Sony BKM-10R Control Unit. The BVM will not function without it.

See here the front of the BKM-10R sitting beneath the BVM-20F1:

"Edit" The Blue caps you see in the first picture are 75ohm terminals plugging the outputs you would use to daisy chain to you second BVM. Some consoles like the PC-Engine get weird synch errors when these aren't plugged up.

Hey, K-2 I was wondering were you bought the blue caps from?
I'm looking to buy some but i cant seem to find any. Anyone else know??

Its a genesis 2 with a scart cable to bnc breakout.

This bvm has both pots and a super complex osd menu.

Ahh, I wasn't sure if they were terminators or just dust covers. I'm used to seeing terminators with the ohm rating on them, and my PVM's all self-terminate.

Hey guys I finally got a chance to try out this bvm I bought awhile back and the image is way off center.

Is this a sync issue?

none of the adjustments get the image anywhere close to center.

Tell me if Im missing something, the image is clear and steady, just off center horribly.

Voltron,

Looks like you need to hit the "horizontal synch delay button" On the BKM 10R it is the third button from the left. Its purpose is to check for tearing in the horizontal synch signal. Yours looks ok ;)

Anyone know of any quality JP21 scart switch boxes? Do they even exist?

James, I've tried 'em all. Selecty 21s are the only ones worth a damn.

I used to have two of them daisy chained, in order to take all of my leads.

While we're talking about good quality video switches, anyone have experience with a good quality component video switch?

I've used several of these for many years. I even run RGBS through them using the cvid for the sync signal. Quality has always been fine. They have component, s-video, composite, and even ethernet lol.

It looks promising. Would be even better if it had Toslink switching instead of Ethernet switching.

You run 1080i through that? I know it says it's "HD". I just wonder if it's good enough to pass 1080i w/out much of a problem...

I haven't run 1080i through one, but 240p RGB / 480i / 480p component are perfect. No issues on my PVMs, and I would notice if there were. I'd guess it would work fine with quality cables but I can't guarantee it.
