I have seen many replies, and I came up with this question. Don't flame me if you are a port fan, I just want to see how many people are from one side and the other, or both. I buy the original neo stuff and ports as well.

I'm straight. I love the originals, but they're not all affordable so I've played on mvs,cd,psx. I have a friend with an aes, but it didn't work when I came over.

MVS first, CD second, port last.

I'll play my MVS for the games, but the ports have a few extra options I like.

Combat schools, art galleries, animated intros, things like that.

But for playing? Nothing but NEO. Ports are a poor imitation.

It all started with World Hero's for me in a local arcade, then I got a CD system when it was released (I never got any ports). Now I've got a couple MVS boards.

I use Roms only. Everytime i get a new rom i like to smell my hardrive to see if it has that new game smell .

I did play ports, but I just cant stand they way AES carts look, their beautifull, so mostly Im into those lately Still I buy the ports tho, just checking if there is anything in it that is not in the original version

Pretty much all AES - couple DC KoF ports, mabye the PSX version of Metal Slug X, and I have loads of ROM's burnt onto a CD - somewhere (That I never really use) - but 99% of my NeoGeo time is spent on the AES.

KOF is my main reason to be here and I used to have an AES before ........... now I play neo games in arcades (mostly KOF) and own some ports

but I am looking to buy an AES or MVS if I get a chance though

It started with a port (Sam Sho on SNES), then I checked it out via the ROM and decided I had to have the REAL thing. So invested in a Super Nova, 4 Slot MVS and a bunch of games.

Best game/system purchase I've made in a LONG time. Even at $300 for some MVS games, they are STILL that much better than a $50 NGC,PS2 or X-Box game.

I do still play some ports, like Twinkle Star Sprites, since I can't seem to find an MVS cart of it.

I started with a port of Sam Sho for the genny and got hooked on SNK games from that. So I've been all AES for around 8 years. Now I'm starting to close off my AES collection and I'm going MVS.

i play all ports at the moment, if i could afford AES/MVS then thats what i'ld buy. Does that make me any less a neo fan than anyone else? i think not.

Here because of real Neo gaming. Started playing in the arcades, couldn't afford the AES back in the day so I relied on ports, then picked up an AES with a ton of games from my friend. Still pick up ports occassionally.
