Well of course I and many others realized we could take the day off for work...but I had no intention of burning a vacation day to get one of these. And I have no regrets about not doing that.
Part of my bitching is just me goofing around for fun...but part of it is serious. Years ago on my birthday I walked into a GameStop and bought a Resident Evil 4 Collectors Edition for the GameCube. My birthday was in August. And I just checked and the game was released in January. Buying an LE of a game in a store 8 months after release? There is no way that would happen now. Things gets scooped within 8 minutes of preorders opening up.
It just speaks volumes of society. I mean holy shot that eBay seller Smokehouse linked...dude has no better way of making money than scooping up units, driving store to store to circumvent the 1 per person rule? I feel bad people like that can't make money in a less desperate way.
And it happens with toys. A couple of years ago my daughter wanted a Jaffar doll because Aladdin was her favorite movie. She waited so patiently for it and I could never find one because scumbags scooped up all them all up. Eventually I caved and paid like $70 for a $10 doll.
Anyone who has daughters knows the same shit is going on with LOL dolls.
We all know this, it's nothing new. Its the norm now. but damn it is fucking annoying and I'll keep bitching about it.
I agree, it's not that Serious to the point were I'm going to make this extra effort to get one. I mean, which adult here would be stupid enough to take a vacation day from work to stand out in line at 5am to get a Snes Classic. The forums are in place for us to discuss all kinds of dumb shit and if I want to Nag I'm going to Nag. We have discussions here about Pickles, so If I want to Nag about some Jerk Off buying 30 Snes Classics which is most likely the reason why I don't own one, I'm going to bitch.
4 weeks ago at work during lunch I stopped at a Sandwich place, a few stores over was a Game Stop, so I walked in and asked them if they had a Nintendo Switch and they were out of stock. I was like ok, no biggie. Amazon was selling them but at the time they wanted $400 dollars and I was like fuck that. 3 weeks ago I took my car to get washed and stopped at a Game Stop which was two blocks away from the Car Wash and they had 3 Switch's In stock so I picked one up, Simple.
This is how I expect to find anything I buy now in days, Either Online, or at a Local Store with Zero Hassle. I'm not going to stand in line for hours like some asshole and I'm not driving 50 miles to get one. If It's not at a local store and I can't find one online than It's not happening. So till I find one, I'm going to be a Nagging Nelly.
