I got something to say so ya’ll give it a whirl

Intro:
Ok, 1st I’d like to start this off with:
Welcome to our new members.
I’m glad this group is growing, and I think its for the best in the long run.
Perhaps it’ll be a very long run.

Now for some basics.
Ya’ll were thrown into this BBS with no guidlines,
not knowing our rules/history & we did not know yours.
What happened was only one persons mistake.
Shawn’s. Anyone got a problem with this. I say email him bout it.

Part2:
Now that your here, we should be filling you in not flameing ya’ll.
Im gonna try & explain some stuff about us.
I hope everyone will add to what I say. This is about us, not stupid flames.

I also hope that you new folks will try & explain to us how you feel
about these differences we are having without flames either.

Part3:
This is whats left of SNK’s extreme hardcore fans on the net.
For the last 4years the vast majority have totally quit the online BullShit.
Way too many flames & fights.
Ya’ll will probably never get to meet many of them.

Part4:
We do not talk bout EMU’s. You want to Neorage or MANE or whatever
thats your choice. You will never be 100% accepted on that basis alone.
Dont like it, Tuff shit. Find an EMU bbs. Or post on MIRC#neogeo.

Now heres the easy part. just dont mention it. We dont care if you play
KOF on Neo, MVS, Neocdrom, dreamcast, at you local nickel arcade,
whatever its cool.
If your using just an emu, keep quite about it.

The fact is, several people (naming no one) here have been hardcore
fans of the emu’s for a long time. They just keep it to email or emu sites is all.

Hear no evil see no evil. You may morally disagree, but thats your thing.
Respect us in this wish & youll find us right agreeable.
Were a good bunch, & if we had been thrown into your house we
would have had to learn to respect your posts on this subject.
So please do us the same.
Also, never ever post for sale burns or romz here.
That is a cardinal rule with us.

Part5:
You’ll find that this group will never ever accept as strict a moderation
as ya’ll are used to. It really doesnt matter 100% what Shawn wants.
We have been together as an online group since long before Shawn ever
even had a site. Weve burned down past places & moved on to others.
Shawn knows this & always has to tread more carefully than Gunsmith
probably had to. (Speculation on my part as Ive never been moderated
by GS before. Also See part6

Thats not to say we dont understand & respect what Shawn is doing.
Kudos to you man. You’ve chosen a hard road & you get dissed alot for it.
I dont see to many thanks thrown your way either.

Part6:
I don’t know how it was with ya’ll.
But you should never ever flame someone here unless your really pissed.
The Snk devils fer example flamed the same group of people for over 3 and1/2 years.
& that shit is still going down.
You really wanna have us start a real Flame brigade well thats your choice. Just understand that as a group we will never stop flameing. EVER.
3 years from now you’ll still be getting hate mail.

Every one is different. Were all individuals. I play the hell otta my games.
Last weekend I clocked in 6 hours on Samshowwwwdown3.
(I love that game & guess what, I dont care how any one spells it,
So someone better call the grammer police)
Thats was not to say some people aren’t like that.
Some people buy games they never play, just like some people
collect roms they dont play. Both are elLoco. IMO

Its just a BBS, and were all just individuals.
Some are hardcore neo fanatics. Some are lighthearted fans a SNK.
Let everyone think what they want, but respect each other.
Also respect that if u act like a jerk, your gonna burn.
In the mean time, play some neo. (or snk related game)

The younger guys here in both groups may be up for another round of

I agree with most of what your stating...
That goes without saying..I differ on the emulation thingy. An emulation section should be created and all emulation talk should stay in that one section.
Emulation is a part of the scene now whether we like it or not so it should be given this section.
I believe alot of emu users want the 'real thing' and it's just a matter of time before they get it.
The emu's are advertising for the real thing.
Plus I like the fact you can rip images,etc.
I've only checked out the emu in it's baby stages but would love to check out what it's become in the future(meaning no-time soon)

As for the rom issue, heres what I have to say on that.

Roms can kiss my ass!
Buy an MVS/Homesystem or get out of the playing game and stick to arcades...

I own a Hyper 64 and an MVS. Roms are for the weak... If you don't wanna spend the money on the games, then you aren't hardcore enough to play neogeo games at home in the first place!

If you can drop 300 bucks for a PS2 and 50 bucks for a game, then you can drop that same 350 for a neo CD system and probobly 2 or 3 KOF games...

Seems that emulation is the next big stepping stone in the relationship between us and Orochinagi...

Personally, I have loved the Neo since I saw it. Of course I wanted it, but back in the day, I could not have bought one when it came out because I would have only had like 1 game. I mean first I would have had to save for the $600 system and then $200+ for each game I bought. Insane at that time. I did support SNK though in the ways I could, such as buying the ports of their games for other systems I owned. Of course, the ports are mere shadows of the real games, but it was the best I could do other than when I would play then on an MVS cab at the arcades.

Time of course passed and then I had the possibilities of buying a Neo while I had my army of consoles. This was around the time of Saturn, which had some great Neo ports at the time, so I decided to hold off. Then the day came. They released the first Neo Geo emu that played NAM1975 with no sound. Cool, yet crappy. Then NeoRageX, now that was something. I remember waiting for the release groups to put out certain games week after week, but it was never the same. Emu's just didnt do the Neo justice. Then I broke down and started my collection. I still have my emu somewhere, dont use though.

In my experience, the emu did not have on impact on me since I was a fan since the time of Fatal Fury, it was just a nifty "toy".

And one point that I think should be cleared up is that ROMS dont hurt SNK's revenue. The company is practically and the games are out of print. Many people can only play some games through emu's because of this. Not everyone is lucky enough like us to have to spend the tons of money our games cost us.

Take this as you will, just my opinions.

Dion price gauging and being an asshole is another story. How do you think ALL the people here that paid for an MVS unit, or hundreds for home carts feel, when people just download roms and say their "Hardcore" players?

It's an insult, they ARE hardcore cause they buy the flipping games and systems, cause they love them.

So those same people that just download roms are the same fucking people that sit on FTP servers all day donwloading PSX and Dreamcast games, making the companys lose fucking money and dieing...

The excuse that there to hard to find is BS, If you have the dough you could find a neo system and games in a day or two to buy...

Your quote is along the lines that if you don't have the massive cash for the Neo then you aint worthy of playing. I believe everyone should be able to play, for the reasons I stated in my post. Now, I do believe its true that we are more hardcore cause we shell out the money, instead of wasting it elsewhere. But nevertheless, these guys are still fans of SNK.

Regardless of how, we are all fans, and we have all spent tremendous amounts of money of SNK stuff.

You say roms are dumb? So let's not talk about dumb things like roms. Let's talk about all the things that we like about SNK. There's plenty of threads that do that.
