King of Fighters '94 marks Athena Asamiya first appearance in the King of Fighters series. The character first appeared (together with Sie Kensou, called just "Kensu") in a arcade game from 1986 called "Psycho Soldier", which is noteworthy for being the first video game with a vocal in-game soundtrack.
